Re: DP for live keyboard use
I just wanted to mention that I was able to get in touch with someone directly at MOTU today who was incredibly helpful. On the downside, they did mentioned that there will be some delays involved when using software as opposed to the direct hardware system I was using before. On the upside, they ga...

Re: DP for live keyboard use
Thank you Dave!
At least I can rest easy that I don't have a configuration problem with DP. I've downloaded the demo and I'll start working through my issues. I also tried JAMBALAYA, but for some reason it didn't see my outboard gear.
The quest continues....

Re: DP for live keyboard use
I'll take this opportunity to fix my double post and ask if anyone else has any ideas on how to do what I'm trying to do here. I would certainly appreciate any advice.
Thank you,

Thank you,

Re: DP for live keyboard use
Dave, In short, I'm replacing the old "Modifier" and "MIDI Cannon" setup that is available in the MTP AV (but only configurable using OS 9 and a Mac with a serial port) with DP. I'll do my best to add some screen shots of what I have so far to make it a little easier. I have 3 ke...

Re: DP for live keyboard use
Here's a question that came to mind while driving back from my favorite music store - Are there any settings in DP7 that would change or increase (or decrease) the MIDI latency or response? I'm just thinking that the MIDI chain is the slowest part of my chain, and it doesn't make sense to me that I ...

Re: DP for live keyboard use
Dave,
That's a very interesting plugin, which sounds like it would be perfect for setting up VI's. But if I understand it correctly, it's not used for outboard gear, correct?

Re: DP for live keyboard use
My data needs are very simple - my program changes are not in the sequence itself, but in the "Default Program" drop down menu. 80% of my use of DP for live is the ability to send patch change data and route my MIDI signal - I'm not hitting "play" (although when I DO have a seque...

Re: DP for live keyboard use
Good evening everyone, I'm resurrecting this thread to see how those of you using DP for live performance have DP set up. I'm thinking I have to have something set up wrong for me to get the delays, stuck notes and other anomalies I'm experiencing. So I'll post my live rig information in hopes that ...

Re: DP for live keyboard use
The biggest issue I've found is the lag between changing songs in DP and when I can start playing my boards. In my situation, I have different chunks for each song. Some of the songs have backing tracks, while other's simply set up the patches and routings for each keyboard. My problem is when I cha...

Re: JV1080 and Sytem 10.5.8
For the record, I haven't had any issues with any other sound module (I use a total of 6) than the JV880 - I think there's something else at issue here...

Re: JV1080 and Sytem 10.5.8
Are you suggesting there is an answer for this? If so, what is it?

Re: JV1080 and Sytem 10.5.8
Wow - this is interesting... I have a JV880 that I use for live performance, and have experienced stuck notes when using DP 7.x as my patching and routing system through an MTP-AV USB. When I used the on board routing and patch change information (which is only supported with serial interfaces and O...

VI's for live performance?
I realize the answer to my question is as wide ranging as there are people who play music, but I'm interested to know what most live performers are using for VI's within DP. What do you consider the essential instruments you find yourself using more than others? Also include the type of music you're...

Re: Patch Changes When Starting Sequence
Problem is I need DP not to send patch change data when I start the sequence - only when the chunk is loaded. There are no patch changes within the sequences. Does anyone know if that is possible?

Patch Changes When Starting Sequence
Good morning all, I have started using DP7.01 live in a couple of capacities. First as a routing and setup device - I send a patch change command to DP, and it loads a chunk that sets up my routings and sends patch changes to all of my units. Second, we are flying in some vocal and instrument tracks...
