Re: Steinberg announces end of support for Power PC based Macs

It does say that current versions will be the last to support PPC. So as long as one has a functioning PPC, then their current software will continue to work. The eLicenser concern should also be a non-issue. It holds the licenses for current versions. If/when one upgrades, the new software license ...

Re: Free TC electronic M 30 reverb (3days limited offer)

For those of us running Snow Leopard, TC Electronic has this to say about the M30 Reverb! Note for Snow Leopard users! We've experienced a problem with some systems running Snow Leopard. A preset change will lead to noisy output, and we recommend not to use the plug-in at present time. We'll look i...

Re: Nomad Factory Plugin Offer: The Integral Studio Upgrade

1. The upgrade process went without a hitch. Uninstalled the previous version "in the blink of an eye" with the uninstaller; authorized my Mac for iLok. The iLok licensed arrived about 10 minutes later. :D The installation was very quick overall. 2. I'm very happy with the unbelievable pri...

Re: Nomad Factory Group Buy @ DontCrack.com

have been looking into this further,I actually have the Studio pro bundle not the Producer pack 1,so i am trying to figure out if the extras I would get are actually worth writing another "bad check" as our esteemed Hobbit so aptly phrases it.:) Your Studio bundle includes many excellent-...

Re: UVI Workstation 1.1 posted w/ new features

UVI is no replacement for Mach Five. It may have a smaller foot print as it doesn't have the mixer and other sound design extras. I've used UVI at various times and it works great with libraries for Mach Five, MSI, and the 'ole PlugSound Pro and associated Sound Cards. Sometimes I just want a handfu...

Re: Nomad Factory Group Buy @ DontCrack.com

The plug-ins that use the new Retro Sound Modeling really sound great! I think this includes the Retro eqs, the British Bundle, the AMT, and now the pretty darn amazing Pulse Tec. I had always liked the Blue Tubes EQ but pretty much wrote off the dynamics. Not bad for gentle compression, but they ge...

Re: DP7 Drum Editor not saving names?

Your solution worked. I created a new MIDI Device Group assigned to Battery 3. Added the desired note range. Option-clicked to rename each part. Sorted the kit as needed. Saved the kit as part of a template. If I want to see the names before I do any work, I have reselect the MIDI Device Group (even...

DP7 Drum Editor not saving names?

Battery 3 is selected. Patch 1 is selected for the halibut! I add the note range in the drum editor, then option-click each one to rename it. Save the kit and rename it, then save the file as a project or template. Doesn't make a difference. Next time I open either, the name column only lists the MI...

Re: DP 7 upgrade with or without MX4?

Coming full circle, I'm really pleased that I sprung for the $99 MX4. There's plenty of warmish sounds to be found and I might actually tinker with it in time.

So now my response to others who might have the same question is, upgrading to DP 7 with MX4 is a really good deal. :D

Re: DP 7 upgrade with or without MX4?

I just ordered the DP 7 upgrade with MX4.

It should be here early next week as I'm just south of Boston.
