Is anyone using a MB Air for recording w/ their MOTU 828mk3? I see that there's an adapter available that will provide the necessary FW conversion, but I'm hoping someone has some experience in doing so. I'd like to take advantage of the preamps on the 8pre and run them directly into a mixer. Is there a way to split the optical output into respective channels or is there a (rackmount) mixer that will accept these as input and split the channels?

Did you purchase the unit from a dealer? Some dealers will go to bat for you if the unit is close to the warranty period. I think that MOTU might also bend the rules a little for you. Also, some states have warranty laws that go beyond what the manufacturer specifies in their warranty blurbs. If it...
