I have been using the PCI-324 under Panther just fine. To get rid of the kernal panics I use the 324 only for Digital Performer. All other audio goes out the internal audio. It has been working fine under Tiger as well (also only using 324 for DP).

Tiger and DP are working okay for me -- opened a couple of projects audio + MIDI and playback seemed fine. No time to torture test yet. Remember to download the new public beta MIDI and PCI / Firewire drivers if you are using MOTU hardware. MOTU states that they are tested with Tiger and hopefully will ease some of the problems you are having.
