formated drive install tiger then install 4.5 and upgrade to 4.52 no interface so no drivers just using apple coreaudio and an empty new file... crash crash crash i dont think it can get any easier than that as i said no variables unless u consider a G5 a variable

What's so wrong with Panther that everyone wants to switch so quickly? If it's not broke don't fix it! If we're in it for the music, Why not only upgrade if it's gonna improve sound quality, application speed, etc. Some of you guys ran through Panther like she was a cheap prostitute and now that this younger vixen named Tiger is on the prowl, everyone wants to drink from her cup of fornication.
By the way, I'll be upgrading to Tiger as soon as they fix the bugs! lol

I noticed that it did work when I hit play on my sessions.. and then I did a clean install and then that's when the problems started....

Just my 2 cents.

This was not my point. My point was even if it was working perfectly, you'd have to wait for all the plug in manufacturers to catch up and in a pro environment it is unwise to make the jump till these issues are worked out. Unless you just like hanging yourself.

Ok it finally it works why i have no idea

I didnt do anything different on my G5
I did a format and reinstall and now dp works fine... i can record and play no problems

2 things i have noticed and can anyone tell me if they hav e a similar thing happening

1) If i go to ask DP to add a control service i hit the + and it just makes a bonk error sound

2) I go to the setup menu then autoconfigure MIDI devices tell it to start and it doesnt find a thing.. wierd.. always use to find my mlan no problems actually it doesnt have the little prograss bar run across

3)go to tigers audiomidi setup utility and manually add a device and yes it works sweet in DP.. BUT as you set it up and pull down the Manufacterers list and the other one (model or something from memory) they are both blank so there is no list of devices to choose from at all !

I just installed Tiger not 1hour ago,

Recorded at multiple sample rates, bit rates, All my Linplug
instruments work all my pluggos work, Cameleon 5000 works..

It all jst works and I reinstalled nothing..

Ok...I just installed Tiger as well. Verified and repaired permissions first. Disconnected all external devices...installed the OS, trashed the DP app....ran 4.52 updater and installed the latest firewire driver for my 896HD.

Everything runs flawlessly.

Tiger and DP are working okay for me -- opened a couple of projects audio + MIDI and playback seemed fine. No time to torture test yet.

Repaired permissions
Installed DP 4.5 from CD

i just wanted to say to Supa, and i am not being facetious or being a wise ass... dude, i love your metaphors.

software, chicks and drinking, toss a will smith or a bruce willis clip in there and we are good to go.

how often do you read a post with all your favorite subjects in it and with style to boot?

i guess i should disclose that i'm still using DP4.1.2 in an very early OSX.
it's working and i ain't touching it for a while.
