Re: Tiger
Has anyone heard anything from MOTU regarding their interfaces and Tiger compatibility? Like PCI-324, PCI-424, etc.? I'm surprised they don't have a Tiger compatibility statement on their web site yet.

Re: Is the LaCie d2 Hard Drive OK?
Forsooth, I had a 200GB FW400 Lacie d2 die on me late last year. It started screeching intermittently and I knew it was in trouble, so I stopped using it. I bought a second one and barely coaxed the data from the old one to the new before the old one died. I had to copy it one folder at a time, then...

Re: PCI-324 and OS X
Hi UltraJC, my 2408 mk II/PCI-324 was semi-stable under OS X. It wasn't all that great under OS 9 though, to be honest. My setup has been near perfect after a PCI-424 upgrade. And that includes a transition from a G4 to a G5. Of course, a PCI-424 is necessary with a G5. Anyway, there a program calle...

With the MOTU MIDI interface, you should definitely see an improvement. At any rate, I think you'll like the G5. I switched to a dual 2.5 GHz G5 with 2.5 GB RAM from a dual 533 G4 with 1.1 GB RAM. The G5 is so much more powerful there is just no comparison. Funny thing: just last night I was recordi...

Re: QUESTION ABOUT RUNNING YOUR DAW & NLE ON THE SAME MA
I have all of Apple's pro software (including Logic Pro) running on a dual 2.5 GHz G5. Like you, I'm running 10.3.8 and 2.5 GB RAM. Works great. If your plan is to record through the DeckLink into DP on the G5, I see no reason why you couldn't as long as the DeckLink shows up in the Sound Preference...

Re: do i get better result to change G4 1.25 to G5 2.5 about
Being that a Dual 2.5 GHz G5 would be an all-around faster system, you would see an improvement (get plenty of RAM!). But no one can guarantee you won't encounter latency. Does DP 4.52 have a buffer setting lower than 128? If so, you may be able to use it with a G5. I sometimes dub with a 32kb buffe...

Re: Where's Shooshie...
Shooshie posted to one of the old MacCentral forums yesterday, so he's still around. Perhaps one of you should indeed drop him a line.
