Re: Ultralite installation problem

Try and get a motherboard with a TI firewire on it, it's probably the best option you get for low latency music production. example: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=2995&ProductName=GA-MA78GM-US2H under specification it says...

Re: Ultralite installation problem

Also Windows Media player sucks for running things through the soundcard, avoid using it.
You'd be better off running a DAW (ableton, reason, cubase) and setting the audio output to the soundcards ASIO driver which is much better then the waves (?) drivers that windows is using.

Re: Ultralite installation problem

Okay here we go. Firstly I had an Asus F3sv that had a built in Ricoh firewire chipset (Open your device manager and look to see what firewire chipset you have) and with that I couldn't get the sound card to do anything at all, I sold that laptop and bought a new one a Toshiba satellite P300 with so...

Re: MOTU UltraLite MK3

Yeah sounds like an irq conflict. IRQ is like a pipeline to your processor, my laptop had my WiFi internet card, ultralite mk3 and graphics card all on IRQ 16 and I had occasional blue screens and drop outs/squeeks/pops. To check your IRQ settings open your device manager and right click on device m...

Re: Recommended Laptops for use with Ultralite MK3

Thanks Reeper! I found a good deal on a SL500 on ebay and think I might buy it. However I was just looking at the driver downloads for the SL500 and there is a ricoh 4-in-1 driver there, so it appears that some SL500's have the Ricoh chipset aswell. I'll have to contact who ever i buy it off and hav...

Recommended Laptops for use with Ultralite MK3

I am now looking for a new laptop to purchase and was hoping that if you have a Ultralite MK3 running brilliantly on your laptop with XP SP3 that you could please tell me wha...
