Re: MOTU MIDI Express Rack Unit Models
I have acquired all the legacy/vintage MIDI Express rack units: HTTP://www.oresteen.com/images/forums/motunation/MOTU_MIDI_EX.jpg I am looking for the last drivers MOTU released for these rack units - both Windows & Mac. If you have one please let me know. If the driver is on MOTU's website plea...

Re: MOTU MIDI Express Rack Unit Models
MOTU makes hardware that allows two half rack MIDI units to be joined and rack mounted. I have a pair of current micro express units including the rack hardware that I don't need and should sell. Mike, I was not aware that MOTU has trays for 2 of their units. Thanks! I have 1/2 size Yamaha & Ro...

Re: Remote controlling G4 MacMini running Unisyn on my Mac Studio
I have an old Mac Mini *somewhere* in my attic I think. I am not sure of the CPU. Might be worth setting it up just to run Unisyn 2.0 as the Windows version stopped at 1.5. *Somewhere* I have an old KVM switch that back in the day let me switch between a Mac G4 & a PC. I know where the G4 tower ...

Re: What I'm doing with my old iBook G4
I am rebuilding my studio upgrading my DAW from a LGA 775 WIndows XP/Win 7 to a LGA 1150 Win 7/Linux Mint 21.3 based. One of my tasks on the to-do list is to get Unisyn 1.5 loaded on the new DAW. Way back in 06/26/2012 I had submitted a ticket to MOTU asking for the latest Unisys version for Windows...

Re: MOTU MIDI express PC Notebook
.......The old USB units need firmware 2.0.1 and USB controller 1.32 to be compatible with current Macs and PCs, mikehalloran, I know that one can buy EPROMS with 2.0.1 on them but how do you update the USB controller to 1.32? And what would the versions needed to run them under WIndows 7 SP1 be? T...

Re: MOTU MIDI express PC Notebook
Well., it took awhile but I found my old Toshiba Libretto 70. Plugged it in and it would not boot. Ugh but not unexpected - CMOS battery is DEAD. Got past that and then it booted. To PC-DOS 7. Rats. I must have set it up to run some DOS application. 2GB hard drive, all formatted FAT16. No MOTU files...

Re: MOTU MIDI express PC Notebook
I also have the same unit and I have never been able to get it to work with a Windows XP or higher computer. It does work with Win98. Last software version was 1.11. I can't find the ZIP file. It *should* be on my Libretto 70 which I haven't used since 2012ish :) See my post from 2008: https://www.m...

Re: MIDI Time Piece AV MKI parallel - WIndows 7 Drivers
Thanks! Over the last 5 years I have migrated most of my computers to ASUS or ASRock motherboards as I find that ASUS & ASRock keep all their drivers up on their sites. I have done a number of 4GB RAM builds for Windows 98SE and the Win98SE drivers are there - just down load them from ASUS or AS...

MIDI Time Piece AV MKI parallel - WIndows 7 Drivers
I am finally moving my DAW off of Windows XP SP3. I am going to Windows 7 SP1. It is a closed system. To do the MIDI device routing I have been using a MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV MKI parallel device that works very well in Windows XP to set up which MIDI device is routing data to the DAW. It is my under...

Re: MTPAV Parallel and Windows XP
I have a MIDI Timepiece AV Parallel and it worksin Windows XP SP3 32bit.
The MOTU parallel driver will NOT work correctly with Roland's Serial MIDI driver for XP. I ended up yanking the Roland driver out - all is well now.

Re: Help identifying old MOTU hardware
AFAICR This was a Mac unit. There *MIGHT* have been an ISA card for it. It *should* work with OS8 and OS9. I have the MIDI Timepiece II and I'm trying to get it to run on my 68000 Mac using OS 8.1. Clockworks boots but I need to load FreeMidi but it's bigger than a floppy. Heck, it just might work w...

Windows XP Parallel SOftware will not install
I tried to install the latest Windoxs XP software from MOTU (SETUPMIDI_251.ZIP) with no luck. It errors out with it can't find SETUP.EXE or one of it's components.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Tony

Re: MOTU MIDI Express PC Notebook & WinXP
I've given up trying to get the MOTU software to run on Windows XP. Instead I am using an old Toshiba Libretto 70CT mini-laptop to control the MIDI Express PC Notebook. It's been awhile since I've used the 70CT! It is running Win98 SE and has 32MB of RAM! 120 MHz Pentium! I had it stashed away in th...
