I am finally moving my DAW off of Windows XP SP3. I am going to Windows 7 SP1. It is a closed system.
To do the MIDI device routing I have been using a MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV MKI parallel device that works very well in Windows XP to set up which MIDI device is routing data to the DAW.
It is my understanding that there were Windows 7 drivers for my parallel MTP AV back around 2009. Anyone know where I can get them? There is nothing on MOTU site for the MTP AV parallel device. 32bit or 64bit would be fine.
I opened a ticket with MOTU but thought someone here might know while I wait for a response..
Thanks!
Tony

MOTU pulled the ancient stuff off the web not too long ago. Someone was looking for drivers for macOS 9 a couple weeks ago and I discovered that it was all gone.

That is unfortunate. I wonder if they did so because in their mind, hosting them would have implied support. Would have been better if they just made a MASSIVE disclaimer like "MOTU cannot offer any support for these drivers/software. They are being provided as a courtesy." Something like that.mikehalloran wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:47 am MOTU pulled the ancient stuff off the web not too long ago. I know. Other companies host legacy drivers with such disclaimers.James Steele wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:47 amThat is unfortunate. Re: MIDI Time Piece AV MKI parallel - WIndows 7 Drivers
Thanks!
Over the last 5 years I have migrated most of my computers to ASUS or ASRock motherboards as I find that ASUS & ASRock keep all their drivers up on their sites. I have done a number of 4GB RAM builds for Windows 98SE and the Win98SE drivers are there - just down load them from ASUS or ASRock. No need to contact support. Ditto for WinXP & Win7.
For example, I am currently building a new 4GB RAM Win98SE Control/DAW computer to manage my vintage syth rack with an AKAI 2000 synth & KORG synths that have no drivers past Win98. The motherboard is an ASRock 775i65PE. CPU is a Intel Pentium D 960 SL9AP 3.60GHz LGA775. Yep, it is a LGA775 with Win98 drivers! This is one of the fastest Win98 computers; even though the CPU has 2 cores, it is smoking fast when using only 1 core as Win98 does. I have Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 that runs on Win98 but most often I just route the AUDIO to my main DAW and use the Win98 computer manage the synths.
This is only possible because the motherboard has W98 drivers that are still available - even though Win98SE mainstream support ended on June 30, 2002 - 22 years ago.
And since DAWs are usually closed systems (i.e. not connected to the internet) or should not be; as long as the OS is stable and does what is needed, it can be used IMHO. AMS Neve just recently moved their consoles from Win7 to Win10 which ends support next year.
Anyway, I hope that the MOTU support staff still have access to the Win7 drivers that I need,
