If you plan on doing any kind of real editing, I suggest you look into a complete version of FCP or whatever you plan on using. You're going to waste time and create frustration for yourself by using hobbled software. The reason Apple makes FCE is akin to giving you free Crack. They expect that you...

I'm new to this Audio/video thing.....

Hey Guys! I am currently making a trailer just to cut my teeth on Final Cut Express (Version 2) because I am eventually going to make a movie. I have converted one of my favorite movies into DV format. I have imported it into FCE and have been editing it down to a 2-3e minute trailer. The audio port...

My last project (full length indie rock record) with DP was a complete nightmare. Before the project began I had gotten a M-Audio 1814 and PT M-Powered. Right after this project was finished, I decided to learn PT like the back of my hand instead of just using it for compatibility purposes. I think ...

Re: Compression Depression

#1- IMO, it's much better to go through the vocal tracks and automate them to even them out as much as possible and then compress them. You will have a much better sounding vocals and you don't have to squash it to death. I agree with this. But you need to bounce that automation before applying com...

Re: Compression Depression

I need some newbie help here. I just switched to DP5 and am absolutely loving it so far. The built-in plug ins have for the most part been pretty darned amazing to my ears. I get clarity here where Logic just gives me mush. To help learn the program, I exported some old songs from Logic as a...

Is there a native eq similar to MW EQ?

Unfortunately, I had to recently switch back over to PT as my main sequencer because of the work I was getting so I don't get to use DP as much as before. The one thing I cannot seem to find is a replacement for the MW EQ. And although I love the way it sounds, it's not the sound that i am looking f...

Multi Bounce?

Hey Guys. I have searched the manual but I can't find anything about Multi Bounce. Anyone want to direct me to the right page or explain what this feature does differently than the good 'ol Bounce To Disk? :)

Re: How do I make an audio track play backwords?

I have recorded about a 7 word sentence to it's own audio track in DP 4.6. ( Still working in DP 4.6. ) I want to play that track and then on a second audio track have that sentence play back word following the original. The pattern would be: normal speech, backward speech, normal speech. How do I ...
