Re: Do's ans Don't's for a Crash free DP
In my experience the problems increase with the size of the project. We are doing some music but mostly post-production work and the projects are around an hour long at around 40-50 tracks. There is no question that DP has some kind of stability problem now. I'm about ready to give up... Very frustr...

Re: Do's ans Don't's for a Crash free DP
We've been running DP in our studio for almost 6 years and generally had very good results. But it's been a frustrating year. It's very unstable - one or two crashes every day. I have been managing a post production studio for years and I've very used to troubleshooting software but I have to say th...

subtract one track from another?
Ok... I laid down a rhythm piano track.. then absentmindedly laid down the piano solo in the same track.. I want to separate them on to two MIDI tracks (hopefully without having to meticulously pick the pieces apart.) I can use the history window to go back and make a copy the rhythm track by itself...

You certainly can work at this frame rate as long as you have hardware with a clock that can supply it. Your internal mac hardware cannot, nor can a motu pci 424 card. A motu digital timepiece can or some other kind of word clock generator that has this feature. Once you have the correct hardware in...

dp 4.6 projects try to open in 4.5
I have installed dp 4.6 but all my dp projects including newly created ones try to open in 4.5. I have now deleted the 4.5 app but when i click on dp projects they still are looking for 4.5 and i get an error. Of course I can use "open with" or just open the app and use File->open.. I have...

Re: Waves 5.0 and Tiger, anyone?
Tiger and Waves 5 is working for us without any problems coming up since installation 2 days ago. The guy in your post is using the AU version of Waves. We are using the MAS version and that is probably what you will want to do if you are using DP. jason Dual 1.8 g5, 1 gig ram, TIger, DP 4.52 <small...

dither for output to da88?
Wonder if the "dither" setting should be on or off when dumping a 16 bit project to 16 bit Da88 8 track. Remember that internal processing is 32 bit.. so it's got to dither somewhere ... I don't totally understand that "dither" menu item in DP.. no setting for bit depth.. does it...

Re: Fixing the room...
i agree about the lavs... it will be a better result. Guaranteed proximity. Consistent mic position. No worries about booming. Just make sure they are being worn correctly .. ie no clothing noise etc. Regarding the Waves x-noise not sure if you've used them much but I find that the milage varies.. s...

Re: DP4 less stable than DP3?
I find 4.52 very stable now that it has "settled down".. that is we seem to have tuned it a bit.. It's been more of an art than a science as I'm not totally sure what we did that cured the initial instability. But it does seem to need to be set up "just right" to function well. I...

Disc warrior will likely fix your drive.. Highly recommended. An essential tool. I have given up on Norton.
