It seems to work for me in a few quick tests. I don't use their plugs a lot anymore, so I don't have something sitting a round with lots of their stuff on it, but I threw a couple instances of things on a couple of tracks in a mix this morning and there were no immediate problems. YMMV.
Yikes, there's a gotcha buried in that thread, though--looks like G5 users are going to see s sudden increase in CPU usage with Waves under Tiger, at least for now.

I'm still using RennMaxx v.4 and it seems to work just fine so far. No extensive use yet, but passes AU validation and has no graphic glitches in the interface at all.

Tiger and Waves 5 is working for us without any problems coming up since installation 2 days ago.
The guy in your post is using the AU version of Waves. We are using the MAS version and that is probably what you will want to do if you are using DP.
