Re: All my projects have lost their connection to DP

Didn't have a choice, the disk was only accessible via the Apple Installer disk, I was lucky to get that much back, at least I have saved the audio files. I have backups of the earlier stuff, but the last time this happened (way pre-OSX days ) the fix was cumbersome but easy. You changed the resourc...

All my projects have lost their connection to DP

Sorry, I've forgotten the terminology for this. I had a G5 PPC that wiped its system drive. All my audio and project data were on a separate drive, but I had to recover the files to a PC instead of a Mac. Now I have a 3G Mac Pro Xeon box, everything is reinstalled and the data files transferred back...

New Forum for Pianists

I've just started a forum for folks who play keyboards (or admire those that do). Classical, jazz, rock, country - don't care, it's all good if it has a keyboard involved. No ads, no data collection beyond login verification, I certainly don't want your personal info. At this moment the cupboard loo...

DP 7.2 copy/shift/trim ignores me

This also happened - but less - in 7.12. I can select part of a track to copy or shift. Selects fine. When I tell it to shift (or paste) either nothing happens, or a couple of controller events will be moved, but all the note data stays where it was. And just for fun, it's not ALL the time. I can co...

Re: Native Instruments GUIs all disappeared after update

Have to update my update - not everything shows up in the KP3 list, and some of it is saying it can't be found. But it's still better than none...

Re: Native Instruments GUIs all disappeared after update

Well, I upgraded Kontakt Player to version 3, version 4 won't run on PPCs. But when I did, and let it find all the NI libraries, it did so. I don't know how much detail I can get from this version, if any of the scripting will play, but I can indeed load, and appear to play my JABB instruments, thou...

Re: Native Instruments GUIs all disappeared after update

I did indeed update from 5.13, and I don't really mind losing Kontakt, I didn't use it that much. But I updated all the NI apps. Just discovered that Arturia Jupiter8 shows up, but Korg Wavestation does not (that may need an update, tho...). I believe I have the latest updates to NI successfully ins...

Native Instruments GUIs all disappeared after update

I am running DP 7.12 with a PCI424-2408 and MTP/AV on a G5 running 10.5.8, Dual 2.7G PPC, 4.5G RAM. plenty of disk space on both drives. I have a bunch of NI VIs - both B4s, EWQLSO, Garritan Jazz and GPO, KP2, AfroLatin Slam, StormDrum and Virtual Grand, and they all worked great till I updated. Now...

Re: "Another Catskill Raga" lite

It's just flash... good outside lighting does wonders for high def cameras too. One thing I noticed is that the video can't go full screen even though it has that option in the player which makes a big difference in the codec. Just right click and you'll see that its JW Player. Ahh, yess - kighting...

Re: Optimal setup for DP7.1, MTP-AV, PCI424/2408 and PPC G5?

Thanks, guys. Since my G3 and OSX 3-something, approx. I have not had a stable system for years until the G5 and DP 4.61. The only reason I upgraded was to use Spectrasonics new updates. But the actual OSX 10.5 and DP 7.1 upgrades have gone pretty painlessly. I just need to be sure I haven't missed ...

Re: "Another Catskill Raga" lite

Just saw this - the music is cool, but I too am amazed at the video quality. Any details how it was kept so high-quality would be appreciated.

Optimal setup for DP7.1, MTP-AV, PCI424/2408 and PPC G5?

I just upgraded from 4.61 on OSX 4 to OSX 5 and DP7.1. It is all working just fine, but seems to be straining for some things that used to not be a problem. I have searched for, but can't find,a thread about optimizing the PPC G5 and OSX Leopard. Would someone please point me to it/them? It has been...

v 4.61 - never mind-found it

Since rebuilding my system, I can no longer remember where to turn on the display of the MIDI event End Time column. it used to be in the Setup menu items, I thought, but I cannot find it. A manual reference is fine (if there is one, didn't see one there either)
Thanks.

Re: Chunks, Why/Where to use them

Chunks was always a difficult concept for me to cozy up to, mostly because of the name. I can't stand the name "Chunks." Similarly I can't stand the name "Bundles." Thus I have always tried to avoid Chunks and Audio Bundles. But I digress... Babz If they had called Chunks...

Seems to me Receptor would be cool for live/touring stuff, but a 2nd VI-dedicated computer might be more cost-effective for studio use. I have no first hand experience with Receptor though, so take that with a grain of salt. I do exactly that, and as a live box it is superb. In the studio, it's als...
