How to re-initialize MIDI Express XT?
I have the older version and I think it's the cause of all my MIDI woes with DP, since hitting panic or turning it off and on will sometimes remedy the problems for awhile. I'm not using any user presets so I'd like to try a hard reset and see if it clears things up for awhile. Anyone know the corre...

feature: DAW format interoperability
Soundscape can apparently open and save as various DAW formats, including DP. It'd be amazing if DP could open and save PT, Nuendo, and Logic sessions without having to go thru OMF or AAF. This would make my life and my clients' lives much easier. Obviously there are limits as to what data will surv...

I'm not sure why you would want to compress drums OTB and then blend them with the dry versions in DP, but If I were going to do this, I'd just zoom into the sample level and line up the tracks visually, primitive that I am. It should be a really miniscule amount of latency if you're using analog pr...

MIDI Patch thru killed during playback or record
"MIDI Patch thru killed during playback or record" When patching thru to either a VI (Stylus RMX) or an instrument (AKAI S6000 in this case), it works perfectly with the transport stopped, but the second I go into play or record it doesn't patch thru. What am I missing, I checked all prefs...

The UF7 has been fine for me, but I didn't seriously pursue using the transport keys. nothing's really faster than the mac keyboard, since i'm constantly using it to locate anyway, and for which there's more than enough space for atop the UF7 Faders work perfectly with B4II, and the knobs seem pre-m...

while we're on the topic of mixer scrolling... i forget the name of the feature which auto-scrolls to the relevant mixer channel, but the way it works is often inconvenient. I want to tweak a bus, manually scroll to it, and boom, it auto scrolls back to a completely different spot before I can even ...

Still, if MOTU made this fader it could have metering, and all the relevant controls on hand for flexible assignment to any channel with a click, or even to send other data types, such as panning (what's the diff, onscreen knobs aren't operated with a much different motion of the mouse than faders a...

Feature Idea: mixer automation UI
Does anyone like the idea of a large fader separate from the mix window which could be resized to allow high resolution tweaking of any mixer channel? I think this would make it much easier to execute automation moves. Also, I'd sure be happy if the mixer could be set up in multiple rows to allow vi...

Thank you, Dave, for correcting my misapprehensions about this. Since I always respect proper gain structure, I guess I missed that there's a safety net at all... now i can cut back on Trim plugs, hehe. I'm kind of mystified, though, as to how the 32 bit resolution prevents estremely aggressive eq a...

feature req: universal plugin metering & i/o level contr
Every motu plugin needs to have input/output level controls and metering. the masterworks eq is of course capable of producing a huge amount of gain, for example, yet there is no output level control and no meter. thus (when boosting), you have to send it through a Trim plugin prior to inserting any...
