896 mk3 hybrid operating noise

Happy Holidays All, I just got an 896 mk3 hybrid. It's my first motu audio interface, so I have no experience with them. When I first turned it on, it had that hot electronic smell to it, but that seems to have somewhat gone away. What hasn't gone away is a very noticeable high pitched whine when th...

Re: Bridging FW on new MacBook

I was wondering if something like this might work for the mac books. I saw this at the macintouch site. Your friend might want to check it out. "I found a web site, http://www.firewire-1394.com, selling ExpressCard 34 cards that provide either two FireWire 400 ports from 4 different vendors for...

I wanna echo those sentiments about getting OWC on the phone. I was going to buy ram from them too and tried for three days to get someone. I've always bought my ram from Data Memory Systems but I've heard such raves about OWC that I thought I'd give them a try. Well I tried, then I called Data Memo...

I'd echo Kubi's sentiments and go with a company that deals with musicians. I've had my car(s) insured with State Farm for almost 30 yrs and would definitely not.....let me say that even stronger..... DEFINITELY NOT even consider insuring my gear with them. If you consider going with a non musician ...

I use wave files to go back and forth between different programs too, but I've never thought about time stamping being a part of the file. This may be a stoopid question, but where is it located?

davel6332 wrote With SF, you get the MIDI too. How do you get the MIDI? You don't -- Soundflower is audio only. You'll need to use the IAC MIDI bus to send MIDI from DP to Logic. Thanks. When I read what glea said about getting the MIDI, I couldn't figure out how in the world Soundflower would be d...

Hey J, I saw your post about Guru and went to their site to check it out. It looks like a really interesting program and fun to use. Since you said you were having problems with Guru and DP loading together, I was wondering how you use Guru. Do you use it as a stand alone application? If so how well...

is there drum machine program like the MPC?

i really miss the mpc's ability to spread a sample over 12 notes To my knowledge the MPC 2000 has 16 pads so I'm assuming you're referring to some other way of spreading a sample. ...... and the way I could arrange songs with it. is there a program out there that is similar? I'm also assuming you'r...

I agree with GKDF. I've been using Performer since version 2.x and Digital Performer since version 1.x. I've been reading this forum for over a year now and I love it. I honestly wish I'd known it existed before that, but I didn't. You can see the number of posts I have, and mostly that's because th...

Projectmix I/O ??

Hi everyone. I did a search here for the projectmix I/O and found some matches, and learned a few things. I thought I'd just go ahead and ask anyway. Who out there is using the projectmix, and how do you like it? Comments in general and for use in general with DP would be much appreciated. Also spec...

James, thanks for mentioning fruit menu. I'd not heard of that program, so I'm checking it out now. I too think the dock is an annoyance and was looking for a program that would actually get the thing off my screen. I found a program called DockBlock and am checking out using this program with fruit...
