Re: Importing an Entire Sequence as a clipping

Can you clarify this? In the ref manual it says to save the entire sequence as a clipping by going to chunks window -->select sequence name-->edit menu-->copy to clipping window. This saves all sequence data (MIDI regions, and conductor track data) as a clipping. And this works fine for me. But you'...

Re: Importing an Entire Sequence as a clipping

I should clarify that all I really want to do is to be able to know where the original MIDI regions went, without having to take a snapshot of the original session and drag all the regions to appropriate tracks by sight comparison in the new session. In Logic, for example, all recorded MIDI regions ...

Importing an Entire Sequence as a clipping

Hi, I'm trying to import an older DP sequence into my new DP session template and retain all the MIDI regions, meter changes, tempo map, and markers of the original. I'm following the reference manual and going into the chunks window, selecting the sequence, and choosing Edit-->save as clipping to a...

is there no way in DP 4 to simply monitor an audio track without recording on to it (like you can in DP5 by enaling the track's "input" monitor button)? If not, I'll just go with aux tracks to do this.

Cannot monitor audio tracks

Hi, DP 4.6.1 OSX 10.3.9 Powermac dual 2.0 (PPC) 1. Audio tracks are not monitoring (either with sound or showing levels) any incoming audio, whether the track is record-enabled or not. But I can record a track (in complete silence) and then hear the playback see the waveform and meters working. I tr...

All the kompakt outputs are identical, none are different than any of the others. The 17 Instrument tracks are identical. Every 4th track has bus 1-2 greyed out. Any idea what could be causing it? What could be disabled on these tracks that isn't disabled on the others? I certainly didn't change any...

Send not available every 4th instrument track??

Hi, I have an orchestral template of 136 tracks mapped via 17 instrument tracks (each of which is hosting an instance of EWQLSO with 8 patches in each). As I have recently discovered w/ DP, you have to print your MIDI tracks to audio before you can bounce down to disk. To this effect I have created ...

I'm definitely upgrading, just waiting for the registration to come through. I know there is a glitch here if I'm getting pops and clicks with just 6 MIDI tracks running. I'm just asking for a tip to fix this.. I'm sure it's a buffer setting or some such, just looking for a tip. I know for a fact i ...

Thanks, i appreciate the help. i remember when I switched over to Sibelius from Finale. It was a royal pain but well worth it in the end. I'm hoping for a similar outcome. Quick question about using Vi's... I adjusted the buffer in "configure hardware driver" to 128 because at 512 I was ge...

does anyone know how to do this? do i need to bus each instrument track to a seperate audio track? is there another way to do it? you cannot selct main out as an input for an audio track so i don't know how I can print this audio without some seriously frustrating routing. there is no explanation of...

Thanks, I see, I can do it all with one additional audio track as you say. Still seems quite silly to have to essentially bounce MIDI twice though. I know DP is like, known for it's MIDI prowess...you'd think they would have gotten this together by now. Printing MIDI to audio should be handeled auto...

Thanks...but that would require doubling my track count? that seems very inefficient and a bit absurd.. I'm a film composer and I generally work exclusively with VI's Instrument Tracks) and no audio tracks. A standard orchestral template for me would be about 125 MIDI tracks (all routed to 15 instan...

Bounce to disk only bouncing one track..

I have an audio track w/ vox and a MIDI track with keys I'm trying to bounce down as a final audio file for mastering. The MIDI track is routed to a VI plugin on an Instrument Track. Both the Instrument track and the Audio track share the same Main outs. when I go to bounce to disk and select the &q...

Thanks, looks like I owe you a coke.
It's funny, coming over from Logic-land (where just trying to get a MIDI track to recognize CC7 data is a grand achievement) I didn't think for a minute that you could actually filter out that kind of thing.

No graphic indication of recorded material

Hi, I'm currently switching over to DP from Logic and am having a problem with recording. There is no visual evidence of anything I record be it MIDI or audio. No waveforms, no MIDI sequences in matrix form, yet the sound plays back fine. I've looked in the track window (where this data should be in...
