Re: Authoring with fade ins/outs

I ended up taking a different approach on this. I bounced all the songs as one continuous file.
Then, imported them into a new session where I separated them and then burned the CD on iTunes as a "gapless cd".
It worked...

Re: Good Dynamic Mic For Studio

I'm assuming you'll be close miking certain soloists right?
I'd pick the best mic or mics you have and put them up there. Treat those soloists as you'd treat a singer in your studio.

Authoring with fade ins/outs

Hello. I've just finished mastering a little project that contains 4 tracks that are meant to be heard as a one single piece. I don't own any CD authoring tools for Mac, I know DP6 can do it, but I'm still running 5. Does anyone know of any open source cd authoring tools for Mac? I´m obviously most ...

Re: MIDI Newbie question

Sourgrapes, you've done it. Thanks a lot man. That was the issue, I was not loading up any virtual instruments and having routed them to the MIDI output; which as you said, since the axiom is USB'd DP won't detect it. DP's Virtual Instruments don't sound that bad. I'm gonna go play with this a littl...

MIDI Newbie question

Hello. It's been a while since I've posted here. It's my first time doing anything with MIDI, so I could be stuck in a silly spot and may need just a simple answer. Here's the issue. I'm plugging my Axiom 25 keyboard directly into my Mac via USB (No MIDI cables) and I'm running DP5 through my Travel...

I wouldn't really call it a replacement for the Traveler. As a film production tool the traveler is unbeatable. This machine seems great for post work though and it would be interesting to see MOTU going into Film Editing. I do however, hope they don't retire DP, it'd be a bad business decision; if ...

I know it's not the greatest idea, but I have used my Sony headphones (studio monitors) as microphones. Not necessarily discreet, but nobody can tell they're being recorded. Another option i have read good reviews about are the OKM Binaural Stereo mics: http://www.independentaudio.com/CDCatalog/HTML...

Thank you, Phil. I was reading through this going, yes that is really nice, but... I think we have all experienced the difference a nice preamp and mic combination will make on a singer, the question lies in how do you get to that sound without having to interrupt the singer every 3 minutes to chang...

How to Audition a mic for a singer.

One things that I've always been fast with has been auditioning mics for singers. I always feel it's a cumbersome process and most singers start feeling coy singing over and over with different mics or mic setups. Does anybody have any good tips on trying out different mics with singers, and maybe w...

I guess i wasn't clear enough. I figured it out when I did not plug the Traveler , and i was ale to take it from there on to plugging it and getting playback over my Traveler outs and my Mac speakers.

Thanks!

This worked indirectly. By not plugging in my Traveler, I got the pop-up, when starting up DP, to set up the I/O‘s, I chose built-in, and there it was...

Funny, I don't even recall where my AC adaptor for the Traveler is.
I keep relying on my Firewire to power it.
Hmm, maybe i'll think twice on my next recording session...

Thanks cuttime, even though that was my first guess, i did it again as per your suggestion and i still can't hear a thing. Would i have to change any setting within my Traveler?

I changed both (separately) my Default and my System outputs.

You mean you want to reverse the phase?

I don't know of any plugin of that sort, but I'm wondering what it is you're trying to achieve?

Playback over Laptop speakers

This may sound quite odd, but does anybody know if i can playback my Traveler's main outs through my macbook speakers? To me it seems quite logical. lf I'm doing field recording, I wouldn't want to carry a pair of speakers with me, I'd also avoid using headphones if i wanted to share the recordings ...
