Re: Surround encoding
Tested and confirmed: Answer 1: If you bounce a surround session using stereo, the file is a foldown. Answer 2: For cinema, just send the discreet files in the DCP, use SMPTE format. (unless you are dealing with a million dollar production who is willing to pay for the dolby ATOMOS  ). Thanks t...

Re: Surround encoding
I did a test and the stereo bounce of a surround session is a foldown indeed.
About the encoder for cinema apparently is just sending the 6 audio files in a DCP package and all will be set as long as the channels are in SMPTE confg.
Thanks!

Surround encoding
Question 1: What encoding options are available nowadays for encoding surround material in DP? Is for a short to be shown at a movie theater. Question 2: If I bounce a 5.1 project using stereo, is it just bouncing L&R or is it bouncing a fold down? The stereo is intended for the client to show t...

Re: 896 and AVID Media Composer issue
Avid is supposed to work with any interface. Actually, it is working with the 896, audio is coming out from the main outs, it's just that there is also a full signal present at the other analog outs and I can't find were it comes from. If I connect them to an audio device it's just noise. I was told...

896 and AVID Media Composer issue
Hi and Happy Holidays.
I Have a Motu 896 mk3. When I use it with Avid Media Composer V5, outputs 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 display full signal, like if there was a feedback or clock issue. I have been unable to find what causes this... Any ideas?

Re: Dp and 64 bit mode
I'm working with big live show sessions, over two hours 52 tracks, I can't complain about the performance, some times I get the warning but with this files sizes I consider it acceptable. I was told DP was 64 bit ready, thus the question.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Dp and 64 bit mode
Hi, I have a 64 bit capable Mac, 10.6.4, the 896mk3 interface and DP V7.21. As I understand, I can run DP in 64 bit mode and improve performance. If so, how do I set DP to run in 64 bit mode? It shows as NO in the 64 bit mode tab in about this mac-applications-info.

Re: Whats .acdi?
FYI
I was unable to open it (.acdi) in any CD burning software, but clicking (opening) the file with the default, which is DP, takes it directly to the burning procedure of DP and did the cd with tracks as expected.

Whats .acdi?
I did a bounce to disk > file format audio cd disk image, tracks based on cd markers. The file created is a .acdi, Toast will not accept it, how do I burn a CD of it?
Thanks
