Thanks all! Frodo, it doesn't work quite as you describe on my system, but some new shortcuts should get it to (mostly) do what I want.

Ah, the joys of discovery...

Cue Wiper Blues (a newbie's lament...)

As I'm making the transition from Sonar to DP, I'm having some real difficulties with how the Cue Wiper behaves (or doesn't). For example, in the Sequence View mini-menu, if I select Go To and type in a location, the display moves to show the location, but the wiper doesn't move - if I hit Play, it ...

Dave, Most welcome. I've had good results with NI instruments in my Sonar rig (Pro-53, FM7 and Kompakt with a great Steinway piano sample set). I expect Bandstand will be up to their usual high standards. At this point I'm getting a good piano sound from Dimension Pro, but I will probably get anothe...

Sometrimes it's nice to get JACKed around...

Dave, Got it working, by uninstalling Soundflower and installing JACK (the download is at www.jackosx.com . Officially it's a pre-release (current version is 0.74), but it configured first thing running. There are a few setup steps involved, but the documentation is excellent by any standards, and a...

Dave, Thanks for the lead. I did the Soundflower download / install / setup per the instructions, but I'm left with the same situation I have with the built-in synth: I get an audio output, but cannot route it to an audio track. Specifically, the "Input Stream #1 1-2" does not appear in my...

routing Apple software synth

Today's lesson: I can assign the built-in Apple synth to a MIDI track and hear it, but have been unable to assign the audio to a track input so I can record it. What do I need to do to make it work? Thanks in advance for your help. The learning curve is starting to flatten out. Really. -- Mark

life's little mysteries...

Well, I can't tell you what caused it, but creating a new audio track and copying the old soundbite into the new track fixed it!

I dunno... just glad it's working again.

Headbanger #1: vocal pitch correction

OK folks, This is the first of what will likely be a series of 'How do I make this work' questions, which will (hopefully) have 'D'oh' answers... I have a soundbite which I have merged together from several smaller bites. In the Sequence Editor, I select the soundbite, andchoose Pitch from the track...

different strokes...

I'm also new to DP5 (and the Mac), coming from a PC/Sonar 5 DAW. To begin with, I'm not making the change because of any dissatisfaction with Sonar - I've used it and its predecessors for over 15 years, it gives me professional-grade results, and I know how to get it to do what I want it to, fairly ...

A couple of newbie questions...

Hello all, I'm starting to switch over from a PC-based Sonar DAW to DP5.11 on a MacBook. I like what I've worked with so far, but of course (!) I have some questions: 1) In the Sequence and MIDI views, is it possible to change the gray background to match the track color, with black rather than colo...

DP (and the other DP)

Is anyone here successfully using Cakewalk's Dimension Pro 1.2 (the IntelMac update) with DP5?

Thanks in advance for your input.
