Re: MOTU M4 1/2 outputs not sending audio.
What is the position of the input/playback knob? That's all I can think of.

Re: Clean Power for Live?
Thanks, Mike. That's incredibly clarifying. Based on that info, I'll definitely get signal out of the keyboard via balanced TRS. As you said, I'll need some kind of isolation box. I ordinarily use the DI as a splitter (using thru to my monitor rig). Since most DI's have unbalanced inputs, I'll need ...

Re: Classical guitar
THANKS SO MUCH for this excellent "buyer's guide" I highly recommend steering clear of the Cordoba models. I had seen them recommended in more than one nylon guitar "nerd-site". But when I tried a few in stores, I wasn't impressed with the sound. The quality control seemed to cor...

Re: Classical guitar
I also think it's useful to try out expensive (even very expensive) guitars. You can learn quite a bit about what kinds of sounds are possible. Sometimes the price is about how it's made and what it's made out of, perhaps more than a corresponding ratio of price to sound-quality. You learn more abou...

Re: Clean Power for Live?
Passive DIs are for keyboards etc. and work best with Instrument Level outs. I suspect that your keyboard has a Line Level Out instead. The Morley/Ebtech (same product sold under two names) Hum Eliminator is a 1:1 transformer. There will be a loss (darned physics!). Their LLS-2, however is a step-u...

Re: Classical guitar
I guess first, make a decision about how much you want to spend. When I was helping a couple students with this question, I did find a few helpful articles/reviews that ranked a few good choices. I've seen good values from Yamaha, Godin, and Cordoba. However, the reviews for Cordoba are pretty mixed...

Hi, For precise batch editing to trim silence based on a threshold, consider using Audacity or Adobe Audition. Both tools should meet your needs for trimming silence efficiently and accurately. Re: Record to multiple MIDI channels at once
DP defaults to OMNI mode, in that it ignores the device & channel and just records any MIDI input to the currently record-enabled track. Go to the STUDIO pulldown menu, choose Multi-Record. Now you'll see that you can configure the input for each MIDI track, and you can record enable any or all ...

It would be interesting if it was possible to "throw" edges the way you can soundbites.

Re: Clean Power for Live?
My keyboard's chassis is all metal except for the end cheeks. But nonetheless, I'm not going to lift ground, it's there for a reason. But the Humno or Hum-x seem like a reasonable option to safely remove ground loop. Some Furman's show this feature: "AC Protection TechnologyExtreme Voltage Shut...

What "hum eliminator" did you try? I tried two, actually, this cheapo Pyle one cause a pretty significant drop in level: https://www.amazon.com/Compact-Mini-Hum-Eliminator-Box/dp/B00BARTW42/ The bass player has an Ebtech version (looks similar to the Morley one), which also had a level dr...
