Plugins not seen by DP
Mac OSX 10.11.6, DP9.12 I hadn't opened DP for a couple of months. Now, although the software runs, it can't see any of my 3rd party plugins, some of which open with no problem as stand alone. Most of them do appear in Plugin Manager. I've tried disabling and re-enabling them all, DP went through th...

Re: Unisyn woes
What 'build' of OS9? I never heard that term before... build? As for the updates, I have 2.1.1, it just won't open as it doesn't recognize the key code. But it wasn't actually installed, it's just a copy of the file. I have installer for 2.02 and 1.52. Thanks for trying to help, there' got to be a s...

Unisyn woes
Of course MOTU doesn’t support this software any longer, but I’m really at a loss. After an old computer running Unisyn finally died, I managed to get Unisyn 2.02 installed into OS9 on an iBook running OS10.3 (booted into OS9). The key code MOTU sent me is recognized, the app opens… rather, it tries...

Key Code needed
I had Unisyn working fine on an old Mac running in Classic mode. Then the computer broke down irreparably . I obtained another computer, installed Classic, installed Unisyn 2.11 - but it's asking for the key code. ("can be found on the inside back cover of the Read This First guide", which...

Re: All configurations lost in OS update
Thanks everyone for your input. Here is exactly what was sent to me by MOTU. I can get to the referenced "MIDI Configurations" folder in 10.11... It contains a file called Default.mcfg'. However, there is no corresponding folder in my OS 10.8 Time Machine back up. -------------------------...

Re: All configurations lost in OS update
Thanks for the response, Mike, but that's just it, I don't know what files I need to find and move. MOTU tech support emailed me a path to what were supposed to be those files, but what he said to look for isn't there, either in the new OS or on the Time Machine backup, it's either the wrong path or...

All configurations lost in OS update
I recently updated the Mac OS to 10.11.6, from 10.8 . . . in doing so, all of my MIDI configurations are lost. I have 2 outboard synths that were accessible via DP, now, everything goes to default locations. MOTU tech support told me I could transfer these setups from saved versions of the old OS, b...

upgrade issues?
Sorry if this has been covered before, I can't find a reference to it. I am about to upgrade from DP7 to DP8, running OSX 10.8.5, in anticipation of upgrading the OS as well. Any issues with installing the upgrade onto the current OS? Will everything upgrade automatically? Settings/plugins etc remai...

Kontakt Aux Sends
What I'm trying to do is send audio from Kontakt Player 5 to DP where I can apply FX . . I've tried routing the signal to an aux send in Kontakt, then sending that it to an aux track in DP by telling the software to receive on the same outputs from which Kontakt is sending... But it's not working . ...

Re: how to side chain
Hey Eric, thanks so much for your reply! I tried using a separate limiter on each of the 2 guitar tracks, each being modified by the aux out from the vocal, and that worked . . There's probably something I'm still missing as far as getting one limiter to modify both guitars via an aux track, but at ...

how to side chain
Hi, After many years of recording, I'm finally trying to get the hang of side chain compression . . . I did some studying, watched Youtube instructions, and thought I understood it . . .but I can't get it to work…. I have 2 electric guitar tracks that I want to duck out of the way of the lead vocal ...

Re: DP 7.xx/8.0 and Waves Z-Noise (bug)
That's not the only problem with ZNoise . . . seems that when processing a track it causes a noticeable lag in start time after hitting 'play' . . . then it does the same thing in reverse, that is, stop playback and it takes a second or so for playback to actually stop. Disable the track or remove t...

Re: Interfacing 2 computers
Part of the problem for me seems to be that I'm getting what are probably some good suggestions without any elaboration... what does this mean, how would I do it, and how would it accomplish what I'm looking to do? I need for the hardware synth to send and receive MIDI to both computers. "How a...

Re: Interfacing 2 computers
Thanks for the advice, I'll read your tutorial and see if there's any way to make that happen....I'd be happy to buy MIDI Quest, if only it would let me import all of these existing patches and all those years of work creating them.... Literally, there are probably thousands of patches which are cat...

Re: Interfacing 2 computers
Thanks for the reply . . . I did say that the new computer is running OS 10.8 . . . that's the problem, I CAN'T run the programs on the same machine. That's what I've been doing, but it won't work any more. I had to upgrade to a new computer because the old one isn't doing too well, not enough RAM c...
