Direct monitoring with Cubase is just controlling the parameters of the built-in matrix mixer in the 828/896 thru the console on cubase. As far as I know, you cannot use more than one mix, and you cannot route effect either. The grate thing about Direct Monitoring is that you cue is latency-free sin...

Hi, forget about feeling an idiot, anyone can make the most insignificant mistake, after years of experience. About the -10 db, check if your inputs and outputs are all set to the same nominal level, (+4 dBu or -10 dBv). Motu generally provides +4 dBu balanced outpus and inputs, and in some cases, t...

I own a 896HD, and i can tell you, the converters are great ones, no generic •••• like most cheap devices, this are real akm converters, listening to it is enough. About the pres, the are really good, i haven't compared them to any similar divece, but they...

hi, i'm form argentina, so if you'd like to ask in spanish go ahead. Mean while, i recomend you to set the world clock of the 896hd (master) to internal, and the one of the 896(slave) to adat. that way, the slave will synchronize to the master throw the adat lightpipe. An other way of doing this clo...

Yes, it is highly recomended that you use ASIO drivers for profesional audio aplications. You see, WDM drivers are the one used for all windows aplications, and although they are quite stable, they feature a large amount of latency. ASIO drivers have very little latency and are much more reliable fo...

in a interfase that features MIDI and Audio all together, although they are they are mounted in the same chasis they work separetly. We alredy know that Audio is locked to a clock. MIDI also has a clock for transmiting and reciving data, only in this case, the conection between to MIDI systems does ...

The audio clock is what synchronizes playback, recording and tranfering in small words. It has nothing directly to do with tempo, MIDI, or that stuff. It is critical so that the system mantains audio synchronised and doesn't produce errors. In a system where more than one device plays/records audio,...

well, if you are using Synths then just route the synths output to the 896HD. The other thing that may be happening is that you are assigning your MIDI tracks to the built-in synth in the SB, and there is no non-physical way you can patch that output to the 896. Try using the 896 as your only sound ...
