896HD inquiry

i have an 896 (original) with DP5.11. i was wondering if anyone who upgraded from an 896 to an 896HD has experienced a difference in the converters or mic pres. thanks!

i have no experience with the original 896. I own a 896HD, and i can tell you, the converters are great ones, no generic •••• like most cheap devices, this are real akm converters, listening to it is enough. About the pres, the are really good, i haven't compared them to any similar divece, but they are very similar to the pres you would found in a mackie 32.8 console.

You think that's the same in the HD192?

You mean the converters? Was there another older version of the hd192, or are you just asking if the converters on both the 192 and the 896HD are the same?
