Regarding a Logic upgrade, some speculation pegs it for the next couple weeks with a completely updated interface, but we shall see.
Just curious, where have you heard about this? Just about everything i have read about it has been pure speculation.

I did this test on my new macbook pro. I managed to get 20 tracks running.
It‘s an Intel core 2 duo 2.33 Ghz with 2 gigs of ram.

Don‘t think that the main problem is stereo tracks. The song that i tried to export from logic had two mono tracks, each about five seconds long. In logic i tried to record both in aiff and sdII format but that did not affect it. Every time when i tried to import an omf file that in itself did not c...

I got 15 tracks running on a Macbook dual core 2 ghz with 2 gigs of ram. Built in audio was used and the buffer setting was 1024. I‘m running DP 5.1 and os 10.4.8. Just out of curiosity i imported the MIDI track to Logic Pro 7.2.3 to check how many audio instrument tracks i could gett running there....

I‘ve been doing some testing with omf and aaf export from DP to Logic and vice versa. It seems like DP crashes every time when i try to import an omf file that is exported from Logic without copying audio (export references to excisting audio data). If i copy the audio data it works fine. However th...

I did some tests tonight with the network MIDI setup. Interesting to say the least. I have two 1.6 ghz G5:s and one of them runs DP and the other one i use for Kontakt and other software synths. The computers are network connected. Tonight i tried to send some MIDI notes over the network to the kont...

I‘ve been using DP since version 2.7 and plan on doing so in the future as well but... The other day i did some CPU-tests comparing DP 4.61 to Logic Express 6.4. The tests where done on a 1.6 ghz G5 with 2 gigs of ram and no external soundcard was connected. I had the exakt same 24 bit 44.1 hz audio...

I know that OMF isn‘t an ideal solution but personally it has served me quite well. You just need to get the options right when exporting. The other day i had a problem though. I tried to import an OMF-document to DP that was created in Cubase. The audio files were all in the right folder when it ha...

In what application is the song you need to import recorded? Sonar, Cubase and protools all have support for OMF. For protools you need digitranslator though.

i recently had to do just about the same thing. I had 12 songs each containing 50-60 tracks... First i imported all tracks to the soundbites window. Then i marked all tracks in the soundbites window and dragged them in to the tracks window which then resulted in all soundbites being on the same trac...

Sounds good. I was thinking of using a second G5 for virtual instruments and plugins. Do you think it would be possible to send audio through wormhole to the second computer and use for instance altiverb on that computer and send it back to my "main" computer again? What about latency?
