Logic winss since OMF Import to 5.1 no worky
Man,
the list is growing.
Between my Mackie Control Extender not working (my MCU is working OK, if by itself),
DP 5.1 not seeing my Unitor 8mkII and
now not being able to import OMF (of any kind) files,
I am extremely disappointed.
So far, Logic is kicking DP 5.1's butt.....
Any help with any of these would be apprecaite

I‘ve been doing some testing with omf and aaf export from DP to Logic and vice versa. It seems like DP crashes every time when i try to import an omf file that is exported from Logic without copying audio (export references to excisting audio data). If i copy the audio data it works fine. However that‘s not the way you want to do it if you are doing it on a daily basis. It takes forever if you are working with songs that are a couple of gb:s in size.
Regarding automation data the only thing that has worked for me is when i‘m exporting an aaf file from Logic to dp. The problem with exporting aaf:s though is that you always have to copy audio data. At the moment there doesn‘t seem to be an easy way of exporting and importing back and forth between Logic and DP or am i missing something?

(Not that I'm a programmer..Motu/Magic Dave?)
Would not Dp's ridiculous need to hold onto the (split stereo) SD2 format
be part of the problem?
Dp desperatly needs to support wav and other more common place
formats.
I'm not sure how difficult this is for DP to include though.
If someone from Motu would chime in that would be neat.

Don‘t think that the main problem is stereo tracks. The song that i tried to export from logic had two mono tracks, each about five seconds long. In logic i tried to record both in aiff and sdII format but that did not affect it. Every time when i tried to import an omf file that in itself did not contain the audio files it crashed...
I also tried to record both in 24 and 16 bit format. No luck...

I"ve had no problems (knock on wood) with DP and Protools with OMF.
I was just wondering because Protools still appears to support the SD2
format.
I dunno..I'll stop guessing know.
Wish the wacky kids from Motu would show up on subjects like this.
It would be nice to get input from the people who actually write/promote the
app.
The have this very secretive nature that does get a bit annoying.

I've given up on the OMF import at this time, I've wasted too much already.
The Unitor 8 shows up in Audio/MIDI setup, but the ports do not show in the list of devices when I set up the control surface. I have to create a device for the MCU and MCU controllers and then connect to the corresponding Unitor ports.
My Fireface 800 and PodXT ports show up, but no Unitor.
Very strange.
All my other apps see and can use the Unitor ports with no problems.
Regards,
Rich
