Here also, after getting a replacement card some time ago, everything' s been fine. No clicks whatsoever, even during longer sessions. Cool.

hello pedro. I was away for two weeks. Here we'll try to change the 424card with the retailer (thomann, 3 years warranty, I suppose, wow!). My experience is that usually the clicks start happening after a couple of hours of working, which to me indicates some sort of a overheating/similar heat induc...

hey Pedro. check the soldering of the female audiowire connectors on the 424pci card. How does it look? Looks OK? no? (google for 'soldering' if you are unsure of how it should look) Here it looks like it could be better. on port4 it seems best of the four and that port haven't given a click yet. on...

we tried cleaning the audiowire contacts. no help. we tried audiowire port n:o 2. no help. last saturday we had no problems for some time, but then it started. today no problems for 2-3 hours, then clicks again. might be overheating problem. I will check the PCI card visually today or tomorrow for b...

The clicks are back. somebody here had a similar issue and MOTU had confirmed that he had a bad PCI card. I haven't tried different ports, and I wouldn't mind doing so if it was my own personel equipment, but I prefer having a fully functional card because this is in a commercial studio. So I'll try...

well well. the clicks are gone at the moment. Why? I cannot tell. Quite weird. I tested the system by recording (at 44k1/24 in DP 5.01) 8 tracks incrementally, reaching 72 or 74 tracks total, playing back all that, some plugins on, surfing the net at the same time, synced to either ADAT lightpipe or...

Oh, I forgot to mention that I did move the card from slot(8X, middle) to another(4X, furthest from the graphics card), but with no help. I'll have to check again maybe. Maybe the PCIe card (relatively new product) is the problem???? How much are these 324 and 424 cards faulty, I seem to read quite ...

2408mk3 & PCIe424 clicks & pops

Has anyone had a problem like this: Audio playback clicks and pops randomly (even with one mono track playing) on every 2408 output stereo pair and the next output channel (eg. audio output through analog1-2 clicks and pops and causes analog3 to click/pop). Nothing is routed to this next odd output,...

PCIe 424 + dual/quad core G5, works OK??

We are planning on getting a new computer+HD recording system for our studio, and MotU products are on the list.
Does anyone have experience using a dual or quad core Mac G5 with Motu's PCI express interface? How does it perform? Or is it safer to get an older mac and a PCI-x interface?
