MOTU has a beta driver for x64 windows (including Vista) that has solved the 4G problem at least here at Chez Agincourt. Drop them a techlink... that's how I got my grubby little hands on it.

Am not even getting anysound at all from my 828mk2.. the unit works perfect on my imac. anyone know a solution to atleast get glitchy sound from windows vista? haha.. If you have 4 gig, it's probably the 4 gig bug. I spoke to tech support and they suggested trying it with 2G, which worked. It is a ...

O.K., we get it: you don't like Vista. It's not as good as XP as far as performance, at this time . I will grant you. I think predicting the future (RME's quote there) is just foolish, IMHO. Problems get ironed out over time, as we've seen with OS's before. My point is, that's not what I'm talking a...

agreed, you can't just choose an OS because it's new and expect everything to be fine. Totally. I just think there's a lot of Chicken Little going on about Vista, when it's really too early to tell. By all means don't switch unless you need to for other reasons (like moi) and if you do, then expect...

No, writing an os kernel that hampers pro audio manufacturers from developing low latency performance, thats MS fault and thats the problem. If everyone BUT MOTU had working low latency drivers for Vista, then you could say blame it on MOTU. But as of right now there are no drivers by any pro compa...

This is a Microsoft problem, NOT a MOTU problem.
Sorry, but drivers are the hardware manufacturer's responsibility, as we all well know.

I'm having this problem also with my new build. :( Actually, the problem I'm having is, I get no sound at all. None. I've installed Project 5. I haven't bothered to install Sonar yet. The sample projects sound great through the onboard sound, but with the 828mkii I see meter activity in the P5 GUI, ...

Are you on the PC? If so, this is currently an issue with Service Pack 2. The OS technically does not allow for multiple hardware devices to be daisy-chained together via firewire. However, there are a few workarounds: 2. Use the optical ports (if available) to send ADAT out of one interface into a...

You might be in trouble. For a long shot, try (with power not connected) moving the red 110/220 switch back and forth (and then back to the right position!!). THere's also a way to do a total factory reset. I forget how, but a search on "828 factory reset" or the on this board or MOTU's s...

"MOTU 828mkII" appears, then a second later, "CueMix DSP" appears. Then, the "MOT" of MOTU dissapears, and it's frozen. the firmware number does not appear. it does this with and without the firewire cable attatched. Sample rate does not light up. HELP, I have a live re...

As far as I understand it, Winpro 64 has the same issue that XP SP2 has, and therefore multiple MOTU fw interfaces can't be daisy-chained while running that OS. It certainly didn't work for me, and MOTU's reply certainly implies that it doesn't work period. I've found the beta x64 drivers to be stab...

Side about Brad and his company: If I was rich I'd only buy from Sweetwater, that's for sure, they're great. So far I've only bought various cable from them, iirc, but next month I'm going to buy one of those Onyx 24.4 mixers from them when they come out (assuming they can match a lower price I've f...
