I will ask MOTU. Just thought perhaps someone here had real world experience.
Thanks!

Re: DP8 on a Windows Tablet?
The Surface Pro 3 is available with an i5 processor and runs Windows 8.1. It claims to run all windows software. Is there a reason that it wouldn't run DP8?

DP8 on a Windows Tablet?
Hey Folks, I'm a longtime DP user on Mac. I have DP8, but have mostly stayed with DP7. I'm curious, will DP8 run on a Windows tablet? I'm mainly looking to use it to play backing tracks when I perform live. I would at most be playing one Stereo audio track with no effects and/or perhaps a few MIDI t...

Re: Stop Button Appears to Stick
It's definitely not the keypad causing the problem. I've had it on 2 laptops, with the onboard embedded keypad, wireless bluetooth keypad and a usb keypad.

Stop Button Appears to Stick
Looking for suggestions on this one. On occasion, the stop button appears to stick. I use the number pad on the computer keyboard (0, 1, 3 and ENTER) for stop, rewind, record and play. Sometimes, looking at the monitor, after hitting the ZERO key, the STOP button appears to be stuck down. If I press...

Re: DP7 Disaster in a live show
I hear you on the "moving parts" thing. I've used the iPad for live accompaniment, but where I've run into trouble is in getting an accurate downbeat on the first beat. In the case of the show, I had to cue singers with one hand and start the track with the other. I find that easier to do ...

Re: DP7 Disaster in a live show
Thank you, friends, for the thoughtful replies. I confess that I used my words a bit loosely when I said "voltage spike." More accurately, a power fluctuation may have occurred. I doubt I will ever know exactly what caused the glitches, but here are the steps I've taken: 1. Added a UPS pow...

as you discovered.
Seems pretty clear to me..the symptoms you describe are exactly what I've experienced when my audio interface "went AWOL".
Even the tempo issues?

DP7 Disaster in a live show
I had a DP7 disaster on Saturday evening. Never had anything like this happen before. I was using DP to run pit music for a musical. We've been in rehearsals since mid September, had no issues. Saturday was closing night. I'm running DP on a 13in MacBook Pro (mid-2009). The instrumental tracks were ...

Re: Stuck notes issue reappears in DP8
Thanks for the warning, Willie. I've waded into these waters on this forum in the past. :) I found the solution that helped me on MOTU's tech notes. I've searched them many times and don't know how I've missed it before, but this is from a note dated in 2005 according to the search results but 1999 ...

Stuck notes issue reappears in DP8
For over 10 years I suffered with stuck notes and MIDI timing issues in DP. In fact, only recently did I finally discover the culprit - MIDI clock output from my keyboard. When I set my keyboard to external MIDI clock, all is good. (I also disabled sync MIDI thru in DP). Now that I loaded DP8 on my ...

DP 7 and DP 8 on Same Mac?
Can anyone tell me if DP8 can be installed on the same Mac as DP7? My copy of 8 arrived today. I'm running pit music for a musical, curtain in 2 weeks. I'd like to give 8 a shot but would like to be able to switch back quickly if needed. Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I searched but didn...

Fix Quantization Overlap
Is there a way to fix the following error? Sometimes when I quantize a MIDI track and there are two notes back to pack on the same pitch, the release of the first note will overlap the attack of the second note. This is usually only by a few ticks and the when the first note releases, it clips off t...

Re: Source of MIDI/Timing - the sequel
...Last week I even upgraded my computer to the new iMac i5 2.8ghz...and still the same problem exists...so I don't think it has to do with the speed of the computer. My point was, at this price, at this time of age, with all the current technology, simple things like this should JUST work...I know...
