DP/Waves 5 plugins & FCE 3.0HD

Hello I'm running FCE 3.0HD on 10.3.9 on AlBook G4. My Waves 5 plug-ins seem to be incompatible with FCE 3. I'm about to move to FCE 3.5HD on Tiger. I'd like FCE 3.0 to ignore my Waves plugins without affecting the way the plugins work in my DAW apps like Digital Performer and Ableton Live. Anyone k...

This rocks the big bad monkey...I love it - but I don't know if I would buy it at these prices...

firebox $225 or so Yes, I've heard good things about this. However, I need 4 pres at least. C I know the original question was about "non-MOTU" interfaces, but as long as it's clear what MOTU represents in the way of interfaces, you can make the most informed decision. MOTU interfaces are...

Interesting...Will have to check it out... Say, would it theoretically be possible to hook up the Firepod I have to an 828 MkII and use the 828 MkII as the primary interface to my 1.25 Ghz AlBook? While using the Firepod as the mic pres? I know they both have SPDIF. And they are both Firewire device...

Hmm...Isn't this basically the Firepod with some added features? So I don't know how much more of an improvement this would be.

Your fave non-MOTU interface

I currently use a Firepod. It works OK. The 8 mic pres are nice to have. I would have gotten an 828 MkII and every once in a while, I am tempted to get a friend's used one. But I need 2-4 mic pres at any one time. The Firepod's monitoring facility leaves something to be desired, but I can work aroun...

Programming drums in DP

Hi all is there a sticky/FAQ/tutorial here or elsewhere that shows one how to best program drums in DP. I'm using DP 4.61 on 10.3.9 and have got Stylus RMX & EZDrummer (with the Nashville EZX). Most of my needs are acoustic sounding tracks. Occasionally I get the call for more ambient/techno. So...

Best Version of Tiger for DP/MOTU

Hello all I have a 15" AlBook running DP 4.61 on 10.3.9 IT has been rock-solid. I recently installed a new 5400/160GB drive in the laptop and partitioned the drive into a Panther partition (cloned from my previous disk) and a Tiger partition (10.4.3). Anyone know which version of Tiger I should...

Hey Denovo I am using a 2.16 Ghz Intel Core Duo MacBookPro. Previously I was running a 2.5 dual G5 with a 2408 MK3. I was very happy with that setup but needed a mobile solution. When I moved the MacBookPro I tested a lot of interfaces in the less than $1100.00 range and ended up selecting the Trav...

Opinions Wanted::Hardware and Systems Upgrade Path

I now do a the majority of my recording on my 15 AlBook 1.25 GHz running DP 4.6 It's the most stable config since running 3.11 on a 350 Mhz G4 IMHO. Most of my recording is audio with a smattering of MIDI off a Firepod with external HDs etc. When I ran stuff off my G4, it was a MOTU 2408 Mk II that ...

Setting up PadKontrol for DP & RMX

Can someone help me out by pointing me to an idiot's guide to setting up Korg's PadKontrol for DP 4.61. I can trigger/play Stylus with a MIDI keyboard but can't seem to figure out how to use this unit with DP and RMX.

I tried loading Scene 23 etc etc. Still no success.

Thanks

My fave vocal setup for me (I'm a mid tenor with not much low end in my voice. I sound fuller in the mid highs and perhaps even a little screechy in the very high end) is having a MXL V69me with a Mullard NOS tube instead of the stock Sovtek together with a SP dual tube T3. Mix to taste. New the V69...
