Re: 828mkii and main outs/spdif mirror
Alright, thanks for the help. I got it to work with a little bit of fiddling around. I am running Logic 9.1.8, and I went into the i/o section. I changed the output to the MOTU spdif 11/12, and clicked on the mirroring button, and low and behold, it worked!!! That most certainly gets a YEAH BUDDY!!!...

What I am hoping to do, but I have not figured it out, is how to mirror the main outs, to the spdif. I have the main outs runnning to my Mack...

Making your own subkick?
Has anyone used the yamaha subkick for recording kick drums or djembes? Are they worth the $400? Has anyone attempted to build your own subkick mic? I saw some tutorials on youtube, and it looks easy enough, and it would certainly cost a lot less, but I am sure there is something I am over looking. ...

Does anybody have any input (positive or negative) on the Event Tria system. I can get the system for about 200 bucks. I wanted to know if it is worth it or not.

Re: High end iMac or Low End Mac Pro
I am leaning more towards the mac pro, because of the fact it lends itself to being able to expand. I also just saw on the OWC site, you can change out the cpu with the new Mac Pro's and turn a 4 core into a 12 core. What does a typical session look like for you Kubi? How many audio tracks? plugins?...

High end iMac or Low End Mac Pro
I am in a total state of confusion, and I am looking for some computer advice. I have the funds to either get a high end iMac - 27" with the i5 processor, with the eSata conversion kit from OWC, or do I purchase the low end of the Mac Pro - quad core? After all is said and done, the cost is goi...

Re: Yamaha hs80m or Tannoy 800 monitors
Thank you for the advice. I actually traded in the Tannoys for the Yamahas, and I am very happy I did. They sound so much better.

Yamaha hs80m or Tannoy 800 monitors
If you had a choice for a monitor, would you get the Yamaha hs80m, or a set of Tannoy 800 monitors? Why would you choose one over the other? Do you have another preference? I have a set of the Tannoy 800's, but I am not sure I am digging them, and I am thinking of trading them in for something else....

Turn off machine or leave it on
Hey everyone,
Does anyone have any pros/cons to leaving a machine running 24/7 or should I shut it down after I am finished using it for the day?
Thanks,
Jody

mxl v63M
Does any one have an opinion (Good or Bad) about the mxl v63m microphones. Musicians friend is selling them for 60 bucks with a shock mount. I was thinking it might be a good deal, but I wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks,
Jody

Tubes for a Tube Mic
I have a mxl 76T tubes mic and I was looking to put a new tube in it. Doing a little research, I figured out that some put a 12at7 and some use a 12ay7. I also saw there is a 12au7. Can someone help shed some light on the differences between the 12at7, 12ay7, and the 12au7. Which tube would be best ...
