Re: Crackly 896--bad MOTU drivers in Mt. Lion 10.8..???
I ran the 869 for years on my Mac Pro (OS 10.6) without problem, switching between 44/48 as needed. Now using it with my new Mt. Lion Mac Mini machine, its crackly audio at 44.1.

Re: Crackly 896
Quick update. I tried the 896 directly into my Mac Mini (not running thru the Satellite firewire bus) and still had the same issue. I then hooked the 896 up to my old Mac Pro system (OS 10.6) and had no problem at all--no digital crackling on the audio input in 44.1 or 48. This seems to point to an ...

Crackly 896--bad MOTU drivers in Mt. Lion 10.8..???
I've had an 896 for years running on a Mac Pro 1,1. The 896 received full BLA mods about 6 years ago and has been working like a champ. I just bought a new Mac Mini. Migrated everything over from my Mac Pro. All my projects seem to be opening and playing back fine....BUT when I try to record new aud...

Got a new Mac Mini, but DP isn't seeing SSD4 in 64 bit mode
I just migrated from 3.0 2006 Mac pro to a 2012 i7 2.6 Mac Mini. The easiest of changes was that I had to reauthorize some plug-in's. The most difficult issue, that I still haven't solved, is with Steven Slate Drums 4. DP8 sees SSD4 when I run in 32 bit mode, but 64 bit mode it does not. It doesn't ...

Re: DP 8.01 constantly crashes--Revert back to 8.00..?
Got a significant update. I ran a RAM test (memtest) and everything checks out. No errors or issues. But regarding repairing permissions--I tried something that I've never done before, just as a test: I shut my system down and then booted it up. Once booted, the first thing did was repaired permissi...

Re: DP 8.01 constantly crashes--Revert back to 8.00..?
Thanks for all the reply's. I've updated my signature with my system details. Some of the potential issues that have been mentioned are indicative of my worst fears, but my next step is to do a RAM test and then go from there.

Re: DP 8.01 constantly crashes--Revert back to 8.00..?
My DP and all plugs are legit. Also, I have not been switching back and forth between DP 7 and 8 on projects.....AND, I only wish I were so lucky as to get crash reports....!! What happens most of the time with me is that everything just seizes--the audio playback will continue DP, but I have zero c...

Re: DP 8.01 constantly crashes--Revert back to 8.00..?
Oh, yes I have repaired permissions--I repair permissions everyday, sometimes twice in a matter of hours, if DP is crashing a lot. It's unreal how badly things run in 8.01 compared to 8.00 on my machine....

DP 8.01 constantly crashes--Revert back to 8.00..?
Hi all-
I'm getting lots and lots of crashes in DP 8.01. I had no problems with 8.00. Can I revert back to 8.00...? If so, how...??
Thanks,
William

Re: Cntinuous crashes
I'm definitely getting more crashes in 8.01 than I did with 8.00. Probably the equivalent of a crash every hour. I've repaired permissions at least 6-8 times.

Very interesting. So basically, DP isn't necessarily working the CPU as hard as the DP CPU meter may say that is.....

CPU usage meter doesnt change much after processor upgrade
Hi all- I've been running DP7 for a while on my 2006 3.0ghz Mac Pro dual core (quad core), with no real problems. Recently though, I've got a few projects where my CPU meter is getting into the red and causing projects to stop during play back. So I went ahead and sprung for a CPU upgrade to two qua...
