Dear all,
I have always been connecting my Motif to the PowerBook via the MIDI port in the 828MKII, recently, I have decided to give the USB connection in the Motif a try and have it hooked up directly to the PowerBook....
Here comes trouble.... Whenever I click the play button, the first 1-2 beats will never play properly, seems like the PB is having trouble sending the MIDI notes to the Motif during this first second and the notes on the first 1-2 beats will sound on the 2 and a half beat or later, it really feels like the down beat has missed the starting call and try to rush back to catchup... this is really annoying.... it is fine if I give it a 2 bar count off....
Any thoughts will be much appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!!

bnr33,
I had this same problem recently and discovered it was due to patch changes not the interface. I tried all 3 (MIDI, USB, mLAN) and all show the same issue. When you play a sequence, DP sends a patch change and the Motif takes a while to respond to it and then the downbeat plays late and gets chopped off. There is a setting in the Motif's utility menu to ignore patch changes.
Does anyone know if there is an option for DP to only send patch changes when necessary?
