Recommendations for a mic splitter.
I am in need of a splitter box for live recording. Any suggestions? I found a Whirlwind box that looks like it will do the trick. Part # SB16T11G. Any experience with this box. Any info and or suggestions welcome.

is it a whirlwind Quick disconnect??? I hate em. pins get bent easily and field servicing is a pain. if not then cool they use good transformers.
Otherwise any box with Jensen ISO xfrmrs is fine. Rapco, pro-co, Horizon, etc....
Just spec what kind of ends. I prefer Neutrik. Easy to field service and inspect. Switchcraft are harder to field service (in a hurry)
Personally I have a bunch of Rapco custom boxes. Better prices than most others and parts are parts. I have neutrik ends on my snake (house direct send and iso split end) I decided an attached unit instead of a quick disconnect for my live recordings, I just roll out the box and the 30' ISO whip for connection to the in house PA and have fun. 7 years no issues.
I have a Rapco custom plate in my studio with switchcraft ends and Belden wire. All hand soldered.

I really like the Whirlwhind splitters, I've used them for many years and continue to spec them in my live system designs...no complaints on either side. I strongly advise to get at least one Isolated Transformer out. If you don't, you could be asking for problems....
Thank you,
