DVD and or CD sound banks

Post by cnyren@earthlink.net »

Hello all,

This is my first post so I hope I am following the correct proceedures.

I recenly bought on Ebay the complete EMU sounds from the Proteous 1,2, & 3 as well as Vintage Keys and a few others. Here is what happened when I got it. There is a reply from the seller as well:
---------------------------------
**I received the CD today with the EMU sounds on it. 99% of all of
the piano patches do not load properly. I tried Protues 1, 2 and 3
as well as boith the Vintage sound bans as well.

With the MOTU MachFive, I tried using several of the formats
including EMU Fonts and GIGA format. When the patch loads, it
plays about 1/2 a ptch below the note then sweeps up to the
correct pitch. Some sound do it quicker than others, some are
slow.

I have tried this over a dozen times extracting them from either
GIGA or EMU Font.

I would appreciate any advice you can give me before I ask you
to send me a nother copy, but keep in mind I tried it on current
songs that already used MachFive, as well as creating new songs
just to try to duplicate the problem. It did it every time.

I loaded other sounds from other disks I already have and they worked
fine. I do not know if it will ever work. **** His Reply: well i have had similar probelms with people using mach5 and trying to converyt giga
thats why i started to include the sound fonts
please see if all the conversio settings are correct and let me know how you make out

anyone with mach 5 was able to solve the problem by converting the sf files in mach5
thanks ---------End---

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I do not like to buy bootlegs of any kind that infringe on anyones copyrights. I am throwing this CD away.

What I want to know is there a place to buy these sounds legally as well as other patches of samples.

I am mostly interested in Keyboard, Synth, Bass, Drums and Percussion sound.

Any thoughts out there?

Yes I used the UVI to extract them. I have used other disks from an EMU library that work fine. A friend gave them to me. Just the ones I bought on ebay do not work.

If they're pirated, there really is no sense in discussion about it on any public forum, honestly.

Yes, I agree. I would have never bought them if I had known that they are prirated.
