EWQLSO Gold w/DP 4.6 newbie questions

Post by radd »

I need some serious help with this stuff.
I'm able to record and playback on MIDI tracks fine.

1. Can I record direct to audio tracks or maybe convert the MIDI tracks to audio tracks? If so, how? I can't figure it out.

2. I can't pan the MIDI tracks. Either in Kompakt or DP. As a matter of fact, when I pan hard right there is no sound at all but the meter in Kompact shows the signal and is being panned. My DP in and outputs or "on" within the MIDI preferences of Kompakt. I've tried drawing a pan line with the pencil tool on a track in DP but did'nt work. I can't figure it out.

I have more questions but I'll just leave it at these for now.

Sorry to not go into more detail....

1. Look up freeze tracks in the manual. You can also record direct to audio if you have the inputs for the audio track be the VI....

2. You might have a studio issue....if everything looks correct when panned (meters moving in the correct way), but you're not getting a signal through your monitors, you'll have to follow the signal path and find where the audio is being stopped.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply Richard. You were right about #2. I'm able to pan the MIDI now.

I assigned the input of an audio track in DP to "EWQLSO gold edition 2 3-4" but no audio was recorded and no meters in audio monitor.

I was able to freeze tracks once but again no audio in freeze track.
For some reason the freeze option is never highlighted when I select tracks or parts of tracks (except that once.)

Also, when it comes to bouncing to disk does the MIDI have to be turned into audio beforehand? Is this where you would use the freeze feature?

To record the VI's audio onto on audio track, bus the output of the instrument track into an audio track and then record-enable the audio track and then hit Record.

Yeah, I tried that also and still no audio recorded and no meter readings in audio monitor.

I had sim. problem, try...Make sure the audio patch thru symbol is active by clicking on the little pair of headphones on the main window frame in the top left corner.
