G4 MDD 1.42 DP 2GB RAM or G5 SP 1.8 1GB RAM

just curious for the same money more or less, what the better machine would be. I use 4.5, Sampletank 2 and SonikSynth 2, Presonus Firepod, I just want to be able to record 8 mics at once with no firewire 400 slowdown and click/pop! I can't quite do it with my pismo g4 550.

Either will do want you want. I would probably go for the G5. Its newer and
167MHZ buss vs 900MHZ-1GHZ (depending on the model) is a pretty big factor.

Your best bet is to find the DP 1.8 G5 in can't be that much more
