Short version: Is using Mach5 for a live performance feasable? Any advice on how to configure it (and DP4.6) for optimum live use? I'd be running it on a Powerbook.
Long version: Since I bought Mach5 earlier this year I haven't used my old hardware sampler. Too painful to go back.
I'm getting ready to play keyboards in a play ("Hedwig and the Angry Inch"). I'd like to avoid having to go back to the hardware sampler if possible. I'd be using my digital piano's sound for most of the show, and switching to Mach5 for some organ, synth pads, and sound fx.
Any advice or anecdotes appreciated!

I'd say it's feasible as long as you are not changing anything and/or running anything else on that Powerbook.
If you want to actually load new setups or anything like that I'd say only do it when you have time in case you need to relaunch it.
It's not the most solid thing I've ever seen. 'course i use it with PTs, perhaps it works better with DP.
YMMV

Perhaps using Rax would be a thought, (or Apples own AU host which
comes with the developer tools install and is free)
both are fairly streamlined little apps.
