importing EXS samples crashes

Post by ksira »

Hi
Has anyone successfully got M5 to import exs samples without crashing?
Last night I imported a string instrument folder and it came back with not being able to find one file, so I went 'abort' and the rest of the 6 string sounds came in fine.
Tonight, I can't get much to import at all without and 'unexpected quit' from UVi. When I try to import the 'pianos' exs folder, it will do the first two sounds the quit. The two patches it gets through come in to Mack5 alright though.
I'm still on OSX 10.9 and moving to tiger soon. M5 is 1.2.3.

Thanks
Kim

I've had an update to my problem.
It is only certain samples/programs that will cause UVi to quit.
For example, if I click on an exs patch and all the patchi info appears, it will convert to a M5 format fine. However, if it is a 'bad' patch, even clicking on the patchname to get the info will cause UVi to crash. So what could be in certain exs sample data to cause UVI to crash?
If I check the sample by clicking on it in UVi, if it crashes the program, I can take it out of the exs samples folder and then UVI will convert the whole folder no problems. It it just extremely time consuming.

On another question - does mack5 have multiple outputs in Protools yet?

Cheers
Kim
