Help with RAM

Post by radd »

I think I'd like to get more RAM but don't know quite how to go about it so I want to make sure I get the right kind for my mac.

I currently have 3 of these with no extra slots to fill:
256 mb sdram pc133-133

Is it as simple as pulling one out (or all) and popping another in it's place?
Would this be compatible?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

These are my mac specs:
Machine Name: Power Mac G4
Machine Model: PowerMac3,5
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.1)
Number Of CPUs: 2
CPU Speed: 1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 2 MB
Memory: 768 MB
Bus Speed: 133 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.3.3f2

Thanks in advance.

This website www.crucial.com is where I get all my RAM from. They have a very easy to use setup that tells you exactly what RAM your computer will handle.

Never got a bad stick from them on PC's or Macs.

Some of the sites (like Crucial) haveprices that are about $100+ more than at OtherWorld Computing. I've bought lots of RAM from them and never got skunked (or had any RAM issues whatsoever!) A 2GB upgrade for a G5 at Crucial is about $340; OWC? $229!

They sell a lot more stuff as well.

I've bought a lot of ram also, and I'll second what MIDI Life Crisis said. I love OWC for Ram (as well as hard drives, etc). Just as good as Crucial, but a much better price.
