MOTU M2 error screen

Post by farnorth »

My MOTU M2 suddenly stopped working and the display only shows a MOTU logo along with 3 green bars, a red bar, and two more green bars. I've seen others have had the same issue but with different bar configurations (number of bars, different bars will be red, etc.). I'm assuming these are error codes of some sort.

Does anyone know what the screen means, and are there any ways to fix it?

The only guesses I have are that you need to update the firmware, reset to factory specs or both.

From Appendix A in the manual:
How do I factory reset my device?

Power off the unit. Press and hold the Input 1MON button and while doing so, power on theunit. You should see several small white dots below the MOTU logo on power-up. These dots indicate that the factory reset has commenced.

Wait a brief moment. When the normal levelmeter screen appears, this indicates that thefactory reset is complete.

If neither work, contact MOTU Support. Please let us know what happens.
