Help With Controlling Plugin with MIDI

Post by JSmith1234567 »

Hello!

I'm familiar with attaching a hardware MIDI fader to a fader in the Mixing Board, but am having trouble getting my head around how to attach one to a plugin parameter?

The DP manual mentions "MIDI-learn" in the Clips window, a window I have never once opened and frankly don't even know what a clip is?

Also with a plugin open, I see on the bottom left of the plugin "wrapper" GUI a little "keyboard" icon that says click on a parameter to attach a MIDI controller.

When I click on that and then click on the parameter in the plugin I want to control, DP instantly crashes.

Over and over.

Is there a better way of doing this, or ANY way of doing this???!!!

The particular plugin I am working with today is Plugin Alliance's BlackBox HG-2, which is sort of a saturation/compression plugin, and I just want to automate the mix parameter, which is in the upper-right hand corner of the plugin.
