Downloaded and installed MOTU MIDI software a couple of times, trashed prefs.
Shows up in the System Report, but Audio-MIDI setup just doesn't "see' it.

Stumped. I am using same interface on my M1 Max Mac Studio with no issues. You got past the security prompts from the OS to install the extensions required for the MOTU MIDI driver I assume?SMS wrote:M2 MAX

Hi. I have an M2 Mini Pro and was having the same problem. I had to download the latest driver from Yamaha for my P250 piano and then connected my piano via USB.
It just about makes my MIDI Express dead in the water.
That’s how I fixed mine.

Yes, I have. M2 Studio, and NOTHING HAS FIXED THE USB CONNECTION TO THE XT!!! Reset extensions database, reinstalled drivers, plugged directly into Studio USB....zero....

I also have a MIDI Express and am considering the switch to AS.
I'm finding it odd the the OP returned to say that tech support had solved the problem, but then offered no explanation of the solution.
With just a few more keystrokes he/she could have provided insight to all of us.

Fixed!!!!! Finally!!!
An old Roland .kext driver in the system was ••••ing things up….
If you are having problems I would suggest removing to the desktop all drivers, see if it fixes the prob, and reinstall until the booger shows up…
Mine was
file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/00/00/8EF107E3-B0F3-446B-A217-0AC821D9B764/RDUSB017CDev.kext.zip
That chopped off the midiexpress xt from the system…
