Will DP9.52 load up KONTAKT 7?
I'm using MAC 10.15.7 (CATALINA), no luck getting the new KONTAKT 7 to work inside DAW. Anyone have success with this in DP9.52 Please post a reply if you have and how you did it.
The AU for KONTAKT7 shows up as passed in the plugin preferences. KONTAKT 7 crashes every time I try to load it as an instrument inside DAW. Apparently K7 is a VST3 version and DP9.52 doesn't include that? Is there a download for this from MOTU? I know DP11 has this, but I don't want to go "down" not being able to access all the older DP files.

Pretty sure there is an AU version of Kontakt 7, isn’t there? There must be… else how would you use it in Logic Pro?

I am running Kontakt 7 AU successfully, but I'm on DP11 and Apple Silicon.
I used Kontakt 5 and 6 AU's within DP9.52 with my old Intel Mac Pro without issue.
Have you enabled the AU version and disabled the VST version in DP's Preferences?

Re: Will DP9.52 load up KONTAKT 7?
I messed around more with preferences and disabled the Kontakt 7 AU, enable the other KONTAKT VST that wasn't labeled, worth a shot. Then went back and opeded my DP9.52. It found this and passed it. It came up as INSTRUMENT KONTAKT 6 !! And it didn't crash ! I was able to load up some instruments that was for Kontakt 6.2 and up. Still don't 7. Maybe try to enable the KONTAKT 7 AU and see what happens?

Re: Will DP9.52 load up KONTAKT 7?
No. You must have DP11 to run Kontakt 7. Trust me, I've already been through this headache. And, the downside is that Kontakt 7 won't stay on top of DP11 if you click anywhere on DP11, it goes behind and is a headache to get back. Hopefully MOTU will fix this annoyance.

Actually, that's pretty much normal behavior for plugins in DP. See the screen shot below. You have to choose one of the floating options in the the plugin window's mini menu:

Wow James! That was complicated. LOL! Thanks. Crazy how you can know complicated things and forget the simple when you don't have to change it all the time. Thanks again.

Oh believe me! Been there, done that myself! Thanks for being a good sport about it. If anyone on this board sort of pokes fun at someone when they have "cerebral flatulence" it's good-natured. We've all been there.
Speaking of which... I've been harping on MOTU to also implement an option that "floating windows (usually plugins) ignore Window Set changes." So far, no love.

Re: Will DP9.52 load up KONTAKT 7?
I get the feeling that MOTU is really understaffed. They used to respond really quickly to stuff in the past, now it takes weeks. I really don't know what is going on.
Maybe you could help me with another Kontakt related issue. I have a lot of VST instruments (including the previous Kontakt 6) and have never had problem with latency. But it seems like no matter what settings I put in for latency, it's really slow. In fact the DAW version of Kontakt doesn't have an option to set latency (at least I haven't found it), but the stand-alone version does, which makes no sense to me. So I try to set it in the stand-alone, hoping it will affect the DAW version. But the latency is so bad with Kontakt 7 in my DAW, that it makes it really difficult to use. Again, no issues with any other VSTs. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

And yes, I agree. That "ignore Window Set changes" is quite annoying, I agree.

Well that's how it's designed. That's not a bug. I just think it would be a great feature to have a toggle that would allow me to change Window Sets "underneath" open plug-ins without forcing them to close. I haven't really adopted the Consolidated Window approach.

Re: Will DP9.52 load up KONTAKT 7?
I'm not quite sure what you mean by latency? Do you mean the delay between you press a key on your MIDI controller and when you hear a sound. That's primarily going to be affected by the size of the buffer you have set up in DP's hardware set up. The larger the buffer, the more latency you'll experience when recording MIDI on an Instrument track.schnedler wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 4:12 pm I get the feeling that MOTU is really understaffed. Re: Will DP9.52 load up KONTAKT 7?
Yes, that's what I meant. It's just strange that I have not experienced that with any other VST, but then again, I just installed DP11 and maybe it changed what I had in DP10. Thanks.
