Editing multiple tempo changes simultaneously
Greetings!
I am running DP 11.2 on Mac OS Catalina
I have a conductor track with many tempo changes.
I wonder if there is a way to increase o decrease the value of all the tempo changes in my conductor track simultaneously …for example , to make the whole thing 5% faster or 3 bpm slower…
Thanks !!!

There is no single global tempo command that just does what you want the way you describe it as far as I know.. I’m happy to be wrong on this. You can certainly accomplish multiple tempo changes through the tools and commands covered in Chapter 58 in the User Guide.

Well what do you know. I learn something new every day from this forum. I decided to go look into this for myself. I figured you could select all the tempo events in the conductor track in the Sequence Editor and then carefully drag them upward using the mouse, etc, but turns out there really IS a more elegant way to do it.FREIMUZIC wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 7:43 pm Greetings!

Just select all the tempo events in Sequence Editor (can probably do this in Track Overview too) and then choose "Scale Tempos..." from the Region menu. See the screenshot attached... I was able to easily add 1bpm to each tempo change event, but there are more options there. I did this on a purely MIDI project. Not sure what effect it will have on your audio. I hadn't done this in a while, you might have to play around with that a bit if you have recorded audio files in your sequence. I think you want to make sure existing beats were embedded onto your soundbites, then after the tempo change, make the soundbites conform to the new tempo. It's been a while. But that should get you started.

Right on James!
So cool that you took this on and figured it out.
I try to learn at least one new technique every day.
I'll add this tip to my list.
Thanks!

Re: Editing multiple tempo changes simultaneously
I'm embarrassed, honestly, that I didn't know it was there! It's right there in the menu. Probably shows just how little I use tempo changes. I tend to stay locked into a certain tempo at the beginning and sometimes I might draw in a ritardando at the end of a song, but other than that, I just don't do too much that's exotic. I'm a rock'n'roll guy, so give me a break!

Re: Editing multiple tempo changes simultaneously
That is way cool. I was thrown by the OP wanting to do this in the Conductor track.
I ought to create a key command for "Tell us what you want to accomplish, not how you think you want to do it"
