Natively the answer is no. If you buy Digitranslator, than the answer is yes, and it's very simple. Just unfortunate that Digidesign makes you pay ($500!) for a feature every other program gives ya for free. tsk tsk

With PT,you need digitranslator to open AND to save session in OMF format.
500$ for Digi...or you install PT LE on a machine for the first time and you can try digitranslator for 1 month(enough for a one shot)
The best is to use endembed format(=audio inside omf file) and to try different settings to get it working...500$ for a buggy application must be a joke! Not for Digi.
The OMF file cannot be bigger than 2 Giga.

Good luck!

Do you want to have all your plug ins or just take it in to mix??
A simple way to do it is to print all your tracks from 00:00:00 until the end and the import the SD2 files directly into PT and line them up and mix. It makes it a lot easier.
Just my 2c.

I'm with Jeff, Just import the audio files into DP. The only thing is all the files have to start at 00:00:00
If any of the tracks are edited or punched you will have to line them up manually, which can be a real pain.
To import just open a new project in DP with the correct number of mono & stereo tracks. Grab a audio file and drag & drop into a mono/stereo track in DP.
This is why everything must start at 00:00:00. If you have say a bass track with 5 edits they will all want to start at 00:00:00 until you arrange them in the correct order on the bass track.

Have any of you tried AAF as opposed to OMF for sharing files between Pro Tools and DP? I haven't done an extensive test to see if AAF can retain more info, but I'd be interested to see if anyone else has. I've been a bit disappointed with how little info OMF translation retains.

By the way, DigiTranslator IS expensive, and yeah, it's a drag that they charge for it, but you know what, transferring hundreds of little files and spotting them into a timeline (going either to or from DP) is an enormous pain. I've done it. I can't tell you how long it took me! If you're transferring files that have extensive edits, or plan to do it frequently, it might be a worthwhile investment.
