Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue

Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
I remember sometime ago that physically connecting your iPhone to a Mac could hose Motu plugins. Is this still a problem or have updates corrected this? One other question. Does the firmware update update for High Sierra negate going back to Sierra? I know I'm a bit behind the times.
Thanks kindly

Re: Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
Am I the only one who remembers this problem. I have not connected my iPhone, via USB, to my MacPro since this issue occurred. Has nobody installed High Sierra with the firmware update, and booted to a Sierra OS on another drive ? Will Sierra still work after the firmware update?

I remember it. Here's a post from 2019:

Unfortunately, I can't help because I use Android for mobile.

Re: Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
It was an Apple issue that was fixed long time ago. I no longer recall the details except that most of us never had the problem.

Re: Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
Thanks for the replies. I don't think I will try connecting my iPhone till I upgrade to High Sierra.

Re: Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
FWIW, I use my iPhone with my two Mac's that are both on OSX High Sierra. (2009 MacPro and 2015 MacBook Pro)
But, I use the 'iMazing' software pretty much anytime I need to connect my iPhone.
Check out 'iMazing'. It's excellent. Haven't had any problems in six years and over a few different laptops and OSX's.

Re: Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
It's an old iOS issue that was quickly resolved by Apple.

Re: Connecting iPhone to Mac Pro issue
You should be able to do an iCloud backup over WiFi, but if you need to backup to your computer you might have to use an adapter (get used to that btw)
I think it may, at least for the initial “pairing”

Hopefully someone else will post something to prove me wrong.
For what it’s worth, you’re probably going to need a USB adapter at some point.
But yeah, that sucks, and it doesn’t help you right now
