How to tell if M2/M4 mac driver is working?
I've successfully installed the M4 Mac loopback driver (the MOTO app says "system extension version 2.0.0+87935 installed"). However, Logic Pro X reports exactly the same latency numbers as before when my M4 was used without the MOTU driver. How do I tell whether the Mac driver is active? Thanks.

I figured out. The driver didn't become active even after installing the Mac driver and restarting my Mac. However, the activation of the new driver required unplugging and replugging my M4.

I don't know about the M2, but MOTU sometimes has instructions telling you to install drivers before plugging the unit into the computer. That would be consistent with having to unplug and replug it after the driver installation.

Re: How to tell if M2/M4 mac driver is working?
The easiest way to check whether it's active is the Audio MIDI setup application.
When the driver is not installed, the M2 and M4 appear as USB class compliant audio devices. The M2 will appear as a 2inx2out interface, while the M4 will be shown as 4inx4out.
With the driver active, more channels apear because the interface offers additional virtual inputs that are just loopbacks for the outputs.
So, with the MOTU driver active the M2 will appear as a 4inx2out interface and the M4 as an 8inx4out.
Interestingly, when I power up my 2010 Mac Pro with the M4 turned on it starts up in class compliant mode (4x4). I need to power off and on the interface after booting the computer in order to have the MOTU driver initialize it in "MOTU mode".
Maybe it's because I have it connected to an Allegro USB-C PCIe card, who knows.
