DSP-Quattro

Post by bayswater »

I might be the last person on earth to see this, but late last year DSP-Quattro was updated. One of the items in the change list is compatibility with Big Sur.

It's been awhile since I bought my current iMP. Besides DSP-Q being an older build, my license file had moved so I downloaded another to the default location. Better now than next month when I'm up against a deadline.

Thanks for the reminder!

Yeah!
This latest version is working well here.
I used to have occasional anomalies with a 3rd party mac keyboard, but that is fixed.
DSPQ is now an amazingly full featured app that does everything I need in the mastering world.
I'm not seeing anything out there that is comparable.
Works great, sounds great!
Thumbs up!
All is well

And it has been updated yet again for the new Macs to Version 5.6. There is a fairly detailed description of the 5.5 update on Youtube. I hadn't realized how many things were changed or new.

Recently I had a pretty frustrating experience cleaning up some vocal audio files from a recording with massive 60 cycle hum. The files were from tape, ten songs or roughly an hour long, with varying degrees of noise and 60 cycle hum.

My first impulse was to use DSP Quattro, but something has changed in the way it works with selecting audio in the waveform timeline to process insert FX, it now creates a new audio file of only the selected and processed audio instead of processing the audio inline. Since it's a single audio file of ten tracks recorded end to end this method completely destroys the timing.

I need to write Stephano about it, but does anyone know if there's a way to get DSPQ to process the audio inline without making a snipped new track out of the selection?

Have look at the vid I posted. There are some new preferences, and although I'm not entirely sure what you are doing, it looks like one of things he talks about when he gets to changes in the preferences.
