Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
Hi there.
I used to be able to drag markers in the sequence window by showing the conductor track. The markers would appear not only in that track ruler but also in the conductor track, and I could just drag the markers wherever they need to go. But lately (maybe since I moved to DP10?) the markers are no longer showing up in the conductor track.
Is there a preference somewhere I need to change? Did this capability disappear? I've been control-clicking everywhere looking for a submenu and checking in the manual and on this forum, but I haven't found anything yet.
I know I can type in the marker location in the marker window, but sometimes (like if I'm using DP for mastering), I need to drag the markers to a spot that's not quite on the grid.
Using DP 10.13 with a MacBook Pro running 10.15.7.
Thanks in advance.

Check the view filter. Markers may be deselected.

Oo, good idea. (And I had never heard of the view filter.) But alas, markers is in fact checked. Thank you, though.

Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
Just checked it in DP10.13 with Mojave.
Works fine.
Pretty cool!
I've never used that feature before.
Just to be sure...
I'm in the SE window using the Conductor track.
I can drag the marker in the Conductor track to any location.
I can't drag the same marker at the top of the SE window.
Maybe that's what you are trying to do?
Go to the conductor track in the SE and drag the marker there.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, so that's exactly how I've been doing it for many years. But I'm no longer seeing the markers in the conductor track. But I guess you've confirmed that the feature hasn't disappeared. So maybe there's a preference I'm missing somewhere.
Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10? SOLVED
I had a bit of help from the MOTU support team to solve this.
They recommended checking View>Show Only Active Edit Type
Now, actually, that was already checked. I tried unchecking it, and checking it again. No luck.
But then I tried checking Show Only Selected Types (Quick Filter), and the draggable versions reappeared. So I'm not exactly sure what "Types" I've "Selected," but the markers seem to be back.

Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
Seems like lately the Conductor track now defaults to showing Key when I think it used to default to Markers. I've found this annoying.
Try selecting Markers in the pop-up at the start of the track.

Re: Dragging markers in sequence window with DP10?
In the header for the Conductor track in the Sequence editor, you should see three drop down menus. The first one, on the left, determines which aspect of the Conductor track is the "Edit" layer, i.e., the one that is displayed, and can be edited. If you select Markers in that drop down menu you should be able to drag the markers around. If they are not selected, they are not in the layer that can be edited, so they won't show and can't be edited.
If you use the second drop down menu to select something other than Markers, you can then enter new values for that parameter, but the Edit layer will change, and the Markers will disappear again.
You can always drag the markers at the top of the Tracks window in the strip above the Time formats.
In the MIDI editor, you can use Markers but you can't change them. You can get around some of the is by showing the very top of the Tracks window just below the MIDI Editor.
It would be good to have some sort of consistency in the behaviour of the the Marker strip across the various window, but this probably harkens back to the days when DP had a Window For Everything and Every Window Did One Thing. The purist would just keep the Marker window open.
