Has anyone else notice this fairly long term issue with DP?...(since after 8.07)
After any sort of paste or merge in a session and the session file loses its ability to change edit points playing in a loop without glitching.
1) Before any paste, you can put DP into loop mode and change the in and out points of the loops and DP won't have its audio playback glitch. Chage away, no audio stutter after changes.
2) After any merge or paste on any file, doesn't have to be the one your looping or listening to, and future changes to looped edit locations while playing back result in momentary audio choke and glitch.
I believe there are a few other maneuvers that glitch after any paste, such as certain edge editing and other edits. I don't recall them all right now. The main one hitting me today is the loop playback stutters that occur after any pasting, and this has been an issue with version of DP after 8.07. It is one of the reasons why I didn't want to leave 8.07.
As additional info on the journey we all take when DP fixes one issue with others remains.....is..before 10.11, I was happy in 8.07. But 10.11 fixed my long standing gripe about pasting automation. (Thank you MOTU!!!). So now Im torn lol. I need 10.11 for mixing for sure.
It used to be easier to have two versions of DP around, but now, if you install 8.07, DP 10+ will run, but deeper inspection shows its using the 8.07 audio engine. This present various issues so I stay away from this type of set up. Anyway, I digress. Love to see if anyone can verify this looping, glitch issue after pasting.

Running 10.11 daily, I have noticed glitching as you describe, but hadn't figured out what triggered it. I'll test and advise. Although bothersome, it hasn't been a major issue for me.
A more troubling but apparently less common issue I have found in one project appears to involve a specific Omnisphere patch. All is well until I start working on a section of the project, repeatedly starting and stopping the transport. It seems DP gets confused, and starts getting very laggy; after a while, when play is pushed, DP takes longer and longer to get playback rolling, and audio and MIDI is missed until DP catches up. Quitting and reopening DP, all is well again. I have only had this happen on one project and currently believe the issue is related to a complex Omnisphere patch. I'll try to test this and confirm causation.
My feeling is the revised DP audio engine still needs some fine-tuning by MOTU. That said, overall, I am very pleased with DP10.11's performance.

Our two issues have this in common: Certain maneuvers in DP create compromised session file performance thereafter. Restarting fixes it, which means something gets stuck in "dumb dumb land". I think that's a fair "technical" assessment.HCMarkus wrote:Running 10.11 daily, I have noticed glitching as you describe, but hadn't figured out what triggered it. I'll test and advise. And my issue appears to be something other than what I suspected. I bounced the suspect track and disabled Omnisphere, but the issue persists. On this one file only; it was started in DP9.52, but I loaded it into DP10.11. There's a glitch in there somewhere.
